I no longer make changes, additions, transfers from messages left on my contributor page. Please follow FindAGrave procedures by using the Edit tab on the memorial page to request changes, additions, request transfers, etc.|
Thank you for following FindAGrave procedures.
Please ask permission before posting my personal family photographs, photographs I have taken of grave stones or biographical material I have written from my memorial pages on this site to Ancestry.com or any other website or personal webpages.
I follow FindAGrave guidelines for transfers of memorials:
Second, Transfer requests will be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Please see FindAGrave Frequently Asked questions for more information:
How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Many thanks to everyone who has contributed information and photos for my memorials.

|Shamrocks||RE: Any idea why|
2 is the "court" - it distinguishes between the inside Columbarium (1) and the outside Columbarium (2). There are 27 numbered walls with niches on both sides of the wall. We're still on the first side of the first wall, so wall 1, side A is 1A. There are 36 (I think) columns on each side and 3 niches per column (A is the top, B is the middle and C is the bottom).
Instead of the court, I'll put OCC Columbarium for the indoor (Old Cadet Chapel) Columbarium and Wall for the outdoor Columbarium.
I think the "19" in the Nationwide Gravesite Locator is supposed to be a "1a"
|Buddy Leech||RE: Sophie Garland Wolfe Carleton|
I had a few references when I compiled biographical information for Sophie's son, Henry Guy Carleton (Memorial# 160467245). One said that she was born in Virginia. Unfortunately I didn't save the sources for this information and couldn't relocate that specific source after a quick search. Today I noticed that her father and brother were from Virginia, so proceeded with the edit. I have taken it down in deference to your superior source. BL

I've updated the photos to reflect the new foot stones for the following memorials:
I wasn't sure if you wanted to remove the old photos.
Find A Grave Memorial# 128087387
I'm looking for proof of her date of death. Can you help me?
|Shamrocks||RE: Eleanor Kriner Hocker|
You are correct! Sorry about that. All of our paperwork says Mitchellville, MA (but we don't have death certificate or transit permit, so nothing official). I just found her obituary and sure enough, it's Mitchellville, MD! I apologize as I usually check more thoroughly before submitting an edit.
|bluegenes23pairs||RE: Found marriage|
Mystery solved. "Miss Kendall" was the clue I needed. I found the Kendall family in the 1920 census living in Bluffs, Illinois. In the census Kenneth's name is listed as Rosemary. I also found a record of the Kendall & Meehan marriage. Mary Meehan Harries was indeed the aunt of Kenneth Kendall Neely.
"United States Census, 1920," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MJCG-JWK : accessed 6 December 2016), Frances Kendall in household of Harold W Kendall, Bluffs, Scott, Illinois, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 177, sheet 6A, line 2, family 147, NARA microfilm publication T625 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1992), roll 408; FHL microfilm 1,820,408.
"Illinois, County Marriages, 1810-1940," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QK9G-37YR : 3 March 2016), Harold William Kendall and Frances Ivory Meehan, 09 Feb 1915; citing Scott, Illinois, United States, county offices, Illinois; FHL microfilm 2,132,366.

Awesome, thanks for the links.
BTW, you listed Mary Harries as a dependent of Robert Neely. Do you happen to know what, if any, relationship there was between them?

Have been searching all weekend for confirmation of the birth date -- she is consistently listed in census data as being born in Maryland, but the date varies, as it often does. So may want to let this go until a death certificate can be located.

|HWA||Benjamin Hudson Collins Find A Grave Memorial# 96745456|
Just saw the obituary posted on his memorial. I think Philadelphia is his correct birthplace, not Independence, Missouri, because all his census records (1880, 1900, 1910, 1920) give his birthplace as Pennsylvania. However, I can't find an earlier census record for him.

The new stone was installed, so I've taken a new photo.
