I have researched my ancestry for 50 years. The surnames in my direct lineage include Parker, Currence, Legg, Mooney, Wilbanks, Thomas, Holbrook, Thayer, Wright, Rooker, McCallum, Hawkins, Maret, Isbell, Keese, Strain, Bandy, Cleckler, Goodson, Whisenant, Head, and Suggs.|
Having grown up in Rome, GA, I attended the Rome City Schools and graduated from West Rome High School in 1961. I attended Shorter College and graduated in 1965 with a B. A. degree, major in Biology. Upon attending graduate school at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, I received the Ph. D. degree in 1971 with a specialty in Zoology. After post-doctoral studies in Medical Parasitolgy and an instructor's position at the Medical College of Virginia (Microbiology Dept.), I taught biology at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC for a few years before going to North Georgia College and State University (now University of North Georgia).
I am a retired university Professor having taught courses in Human Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Microbiology, Human Histology, Medical Parasitology, and Wildlife Biology. I retired in 2005 from North Georgia College and State University after 37 years of teaching at the college level.
I have membership with the Sons of Confederate Veterans, National Society Sons of the American Revolution, Society of Indian Wars of the United States, Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge, and the General Society of Colonial Wars.
Currently I am compiling a new edition to my book: "The Strain Family: A Genealogy of the Descendants of Andrew Strain, Sr. of North Carolina" which was originally published in 1985. For a number of years I have been the Historian for the Strain Family Association which meets annually on the third Sunday in July at the Sugar Valley Baptist Church, Sugar Valley, Georgia.

I'm afraid I don't have any of the information you asked about. I do wish you luck in tracking it down though!
|Wanda Darnell||Frank Corbin|
James, I edited the death information for Mr. Corbin. If he is kin and you would like to manage his memorial, just let me know.

I want to start by saying thank you for creating and managing my grandparents site. I would love to take them off your hands if you don't mind. I didn't know a website like this existed until I started looking for her Mother's grave site. My Great Grandmother (aka. Granny) was linked to Mawmaw so here we are. Let me know what you think.
May God Bless You!
Thank you very much,
|Wanda Darnell||America Corbin|
You left an edit (Maiden Name) for America Corbin. I noticed that I had duplicate for Mrs. Corbin, you had a memorial up to. I transferred her headstone picture to your memorial and deleted the one I had up.
Glad you contacted me.

|William Reeves||Willis Reeves|
James, My name is William D. Reeves and Henry Wyatt Reeves was my Great Great Grandfather. I have been trying to trace back to his father, Willis, and his father believed to be William. I am looking for any information on where Willis is buried and any information that can tie Willis to William. I would be more than happy to share any information I have on the Reeves family. The information I have on Willis is that he died August 12, 1846 in Gaston County North Carolina but I cannot find his grave. Thanks for your work.
|Frances Allen Titsworth||RE: Memorial for Dora Veda Strain Huff|
This is strange for sure! I think you may have to contact findagrave to get an answer. I can't be sure, but it looks like someone else linked her to James Evert and then deleted her. It has been more than a year ago since I added his memorial and photographed the cemetery and I am not kin. I clicked on "family links edit" on his memorial and she does not show up as a spouse there. So, I don't think I originally linked them. And I can't remove her either. Maybe findagrave can help you more. Let me know if you find out anything.
|Kathy D||Pendleton B Isbel.|
Saw one family tree online which had Pendleton (father Pendleton mother Sarah) with two wives: Wife 1 was Clarissa "Clarkey" with whom there were several children and wife #2 - Polly Dupree!

The site this came from: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/ISBELL/1997-11/0879903139
I have now found two spouses for Pendleton Sr: Mary Polly Hayes and Sarah Henderson.

James, thank you for the thorough bio on the memorial page. Do you have any evidence that Pendleton married a Mary Polly Dupree in Virginia?
Is the Isbel family the same as Isbell?
