I wrote the following few paragraphs when I first started researching my tree. They are as true today as they were back then. However, If there's one thing that has shown to be more important than anything else it's teamwork!! No one person can document all the information that needs to be made public. That's why the edit tab at the top of your profile page is so important. Please give a look at that list of entries as often as possible. As you process the entries, visiting the memorial pages and comparing them to your own work is crucial and informative. You'll find family members that you were never able to find before, because now,they've been linked. Genealogy is not fiction, its facts. Facts about every person listed. Check it out, you never know what may have been added since your last visit.|
As far as genealogy is concerned, I guess I'm a "newbie" started in 2005. My mother died in April, my step father died in July, and my sister died in October all in 2005. It finally dawned on me that all my history was gone. I've found some great people out there willing to help me to put my "tree" together. I want to give back as much as I've gotten. I take pictures of headstones in cemeteries that I visit and intend to do more. I want to share those photos with anyone who wants to use them.
If I've input some of your family and they are not relatives of mine, I'll gladly transfer them to you. Please use the edit tab on the memorial page to make your suggestions and add your links. The common courtesy of asking for changes and links instead of demanding is appreciated.
I can't stress enough the importance of the edits tab. The edit tab contains a list of corrections or additions that someone else has found for established memorials. Please look at this tab and process the ones listed for you. This is one of best "team" projects for genealogy. Let's all contribute the little pieces of information that everyone else may not have. IT'S ALL IMPORTANT.

You are so welcome. Hope you found the pics that you needed to there. I think I pretty much got the whole cemetery photographed there. At least the ones that I could read.

Thank you Dana. I appreciate all you have done with Find A Grave. Being from the area, and seeing a few mistakes as well as having additional information I could keep it up to date. Again, thank you very much, and keep up the excellent work.

DANA, WOULD YOU CONSIDER TRANSFERRING THE DENNIE PIGG CEMETERY TO ME? I AM FROM THE ARE, AND HAVE MANY ITEMS TO ADD, NOT TO MENTION DEATH CERTIFICATES FOR JUST ABOUT EVERYONE. I HAVE MANY FAMILY MEMBERS BURIED THERE INCLUDING MY GRANDFATHER, CLYDE LEWIS, MY AUNT, VIRGINIA NECESSARY, MY COUSIN, DONALD NECESSARY, MY GREAT UNCLE, MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER, MY GG GRANDPARENT, TURNER & MAHALA. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

Would you be willing to transfer Rachel's memorial #102220392 to me. She is the 6th wife of my great-grandfather. I would appreciate it very much.

Thanks. I understand that many were mixed as they say. I was just trying to use that information to find out if we could somehow figure out the different Thomas Doyles and how they relate to this particular cousin's husband. I am certain his grandmother was Estelle and I can ask him further information the next time we see them to see if he knows anything further and wants to help figure it out. Otherwise I may just concentrate more on our immediate line of ancestors!
|T. Custis||RE: Annie Doyle & children|
Thanks, I understand. It is a little confusing sometimes. There are some family trees on Ancestry.com that seem to indicate Thomas married a Martha after 1895 and the last three children were by her.
The birth date for Thomas on many of the trees and the census records that are being sited show multiple birth dates for Thomas from 1854 to 1861. Also, the census records jump back and forth between white and mulatto as well, as if there might have been two Thomas Doyles.?? So, no rush, just thought I would check. The picture on Liddie's page seems to show a black or mixed race person. So..
My husband's cousin married into the family by marrying one of Estelle Doyle's grandkids, (Estelle is one of the children of Thomas and Annie). He (the grandson) is not mixed race as far as I know, but you can never really tell. I might be able to get some information from him, but they have not shown much interest in genealogy.

You are welcome. I am not kin, and saw where you had left some beautiful flowers and thought they might be kin to you or good friends.
Have a blessed New Year.
