Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am researching the family tree on both my husband's and my side. Some of the names of interest: Mountain, Briggs, Rasmussen, Brundage, Woodgerd, Porter, Dale, Depue, Hall, Stryker, Stivers, Martin, Barnes, Garvin, Heath, McGinnes, Striker, VanCampen. These folks lived in NY, NJ, OH, MD, WY, MT. I am new to the searching for graves project, but let's see how it works out. Might be a good excuse to go exploring. Most able to search in Essex, Morris and Union Counties in NJ. Beyond that, let's chat.

I hereby give permission to use the photos I have taken and posted to Find A Grave in other genealogical purposes like family trees and Ancestry.Com. (5/14/11) Leave me a public message or . . .

RE: Hannah Lindsley
Thanks Bonnie. I don't know what I was thinking, I should have contacted the person who created the memorial for the birth/death dates. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. :) I'll send edits to them.

Amos Harrison (d.1785)
Greetings, Bonnie!

Of the 2 entries in the Orange Presbyterian churchyard for the Amos Harrison who died in 1785, mine is the original, created in 2002. The later entry, made in 2010 is a dupe, and involves a questionable spousal link to Martha Condit Harrison. Based on my research, Martha Condit married "Deacon" Amos Harrison, who was born c.1755 and died c.1832. The Amos Harrison "Esq" who died in 1785 would have been 45 years her senior. Although their marriage isn't impossible, it seems liklier that some confusion has arisen because the older Amos was also married to a woman named Martha (nee Smith). There's a passage in one of the early Orange histories about "Deacon" Amos Harrison and his wife Martha riding horseback to church, each with one of their twin children in their arms which also indicates that Martha Condit was the wife of the younger Amos.
Thanks for your consideration, and if not too inconvenient, would your also consider uploading your photos of the older Amos Harrison's gravestone to the original entry?

Best regards,

Mary Dodd Cundit
Hi Bonnie,
Thanks for the reply. I don't think there is much can be done with this. There are so many Condits, Cundits and Cunduits in this cemetery and alot of them are duplicates. So many are the same people with different spellings. I know in my family tree there are a number of different spellings because some of them changed their names after coming to America. I am a Find A Grave volunteer so I know how complicated grave sites can be. Thanks

Hannah Lindsley
Hi Bonnie,

Thanks so much for all you do. I have ancestors in Essex, Morris and Union counties so your work has been so helpful to me.

I was looking at the photo of Hannah Lindsley's stone (#50973861) and I think her death date is May 22, 1810. Her age looks like 76 years and 7 months. That would make her birthdate October 22, 1733. I thought I'd share this with you and if you agree you can update the caption. I tried, but I can't make out the verse at the bottom. Sorry about that. The only thing I'm certain of is the last word is "Lord".

Thanks again,

Wendy Houck

Jane Heinz
Parents of Otto F. Heinz
Otto Frederick Heinz was only son of Otto H. Heinz and Emily Jacobi Heinz. May L. Heinz was the only daughter. One side of headstone shows father, Mother, & son Otto F. the other side of grave shows daughter May L. Heinz and her second husband Louis Heck and his brother who all seemed to die in 1936 and 1938, so there was no room for Otto Frederick's wife Adele Meyer Heinz (1877 - 1966). May L. was the daughter not the wife of Otto H. Heinz
