A Little story about George Kohl
(III) George Kohl, son of George and grandson of the emigrant ancestor, was born Jan. 10, 1784 and became a prominent citizen of Cumru. He was the well-known proprietor of the "Kohl's Hotel," for many years, besides owning considerable land and a number of dwellings. He became rich and prosperous, and was actively interested in public affairs. He was a member of the Allegheny Union Church across the line from where he lived, in Brecknock township, belonging to the German Reformed congregation. He was a useful man in his community, and he befriended many in need, and was greatly esteemed by all.
