I am interested in the family history of my family & my husband's family.(I am originally from Adams,MN & he is from Hayfield, MN) We now live in New Ulm. Some family names are Hemingway, Lee, Hagen, Peterson,Aarhus, Gordon, Huseby,Torgerson,Lewison, Anderson, Johnson, Share|
I first became interested in family history when I took a women's study class entitled "Our Foremothers". One assignment was to do an oral history with an older relative. Hearing the stories that my mom, my grandma & my husband's grandma had to share was priceless. The past became alive and names & dates became real people. I think my quest is bringing these stories and people to the younger generations that we will not lose this connection...and that our foremothers and forefathers will not be forgotten.

|John Durboraw||Alfred Mecklenberg|
I have posted two pictures to the Find a Grave website you created for my wife's great uncle, Alfred Mecklenburg. I have also sent you an edit request for the submission of his birth date, location and place of death. Thank you for creating the entry. I am also helping my wife's cousin, Yvonne (Mecklenburg) Weber in researching him for the historical society's 100th anniversary.

Thank you again and I am not related and do not want a transfer. I am working on transferring my memorials to their families.

Thank you very much for the photos of the Emmerich graves. I was wondering if you have any advice for tracking down an obituary from this area for William Emmerich? I don't live in this area so I am not familiar with what is available.

|Lenda Erickson Earl||RE: The Earl Memorial Transfers|
Thank you so much! Would you be willing to share the service you use for acquiring obits? There are so many to choose from, and their fees all differ. Do you use a service for death certificates, or go directly to the city office websites? I'm new to finding these documents and always like to know what others find to be inexpensive and effective.
Kind regards and thanks again!
You have a Henry Mehlhop.
Is this family something you are searching?
If so would you be interested in exchanging
information and perhaps photos. Mehlhop is
one of our family names.
|Lenda Erickson Earl||Wrong name|
Oops - in my excitement, I got the name wrong for the mother. Her name is Frances Marie (Wandersee) Earl. I need to slow down :->
|Lenda Erickson Earl||Memorial transfers?|
Very excited that you also have three additional members of my husbands family:
Kenneth C. Earl 1618 07967 (father)
Scott K. Earl 1618 73454 (son)
Beverly V. Earl 1487 39195 (daughter)
There is a photo of brother Scott's grave with a blank space for another person. The photo was taken before 2015, so I would assume the grave headstone also lists sister Beverly as neither of the two siblings married. It would be wonderful to have a photo of the headstone now.
The mother Victoria (Brey) Earl has been listed by C. Melton on Find A Grave. I have requested a transfer of the mother from them as well.
Thank you again for all your efforts. I'm in California, so cannot go to the graveyard.
