I am interested in the family history of my family & my husband's family.(I am originally from Adams,MN & he is from Hayfield, MN) We now live in New Ulm. Some family names are Hemingway, Lee, Hagen, Peterson,Aarhus, Gordon, Huseby,Torgerson,Lewison, Anderson, Johnson, Share|
I first became interested in family history when I took a women's study class entitled "Our Foremothers". One assignment was to do an oral history with an older relative. Hearing the stories that my mom, my grandma & my husband's grandma had to share was priceless. The past became alive and names & dates became real people. I think my quest is bringing these stories and people to the younger generations that we will not lose this connection...and that our foremothers and forefathers will not be forgotten.

I have done as you suggested and entirely agree with your comments. Apparently she lives in Indiana.
I have gone back to work part time so I am investing myself less in volunteer lookups. I am working on Butterfield cemeteries prior to their Threshing Bee this weekend.
Thanks for your help.

Thank you for providing the bio and confirming the burial location for the husband of my great grand aunt. Their marriage license lists his birthdate as Apr. 1, 1855 rather than 1856, so I'll look into that further. -- Linda

Thanks for that. I think I'll see if I can find any of her art and post it as photos. That may take me to the Historical Society for photos. Thanks again.

Thank you for the beautiful photos. They are much appreciated.
Being half way across the county, it is always nice to have a helping hand, so far away.
Keep up the good work.

I think the way you handled Ida/Antonia name on the baby's memorial is just fine. Thank you for all the additional info on the memorials and for the headstone photos! They make a great addition to the Find a Grave memorials!
