Spelling of Marcus V. Pool's Middle Name
Marcus V. Pool is My Maternal GrandFather's Dad. I Have all Manner of listings of his middle Name as Valpeau instead of Velpeau. If You Look at the Georgia Marriage Records for Him; they spell his Middle Name Valpeau. Could You Change This Please? He was Married 3 Times; the 3rd Wife was Mattie E.Freeman Pool & She was My Grandfather's Mother. He wass 1ast Married to Rosalee Lummus in 1875 in Forsyth County Georgia. 2nd Wife was Margaret Ann McMillan also in Georgia in 1885. Then He married Martha Elizabeth Mattie Freeman in 1893 in the town of Buckville in Garland County Arkansas in 1893. If You look on www.familysearch.org at Dr. Marcus Valpeau Pool whose ID # is LCRC-DRS I Have all 3 Wives in that Profile in Order from 1st to Last & I Believe I Have the Children attributed to the Correct Mothers as well. My Mother who was Marcus Valpeau Pool's GrandDaughter who Knew Him Before He died; just passed away May 29th 2015 & We are Going to Bring a Wealth of Pool family Data she had from Her Mother and Father back to Tallahassee,Fl a Week from Today. If U would like to Share info; I have a Copier Scanner & Could email You Scanned in Photos and Data. My Mom who was Pre Deceased by My Dad had Done a Great Deal of Genealogy at an Amateur Level on the Pool and the Mayberry Families of Buckville, Garland, Arkansas & Left it all in a Single Box which My siblings want me to Merge into a Computer Record & Then we Will Decide where to Keep it once it is all Computerized. Hi,I wonder if you have any info on Ms. Minnie's husband, L.D. (Lucious)McCollum. I am researching his family and cannot seem to trace him any further than his marriage to Minnie in 1912. Thanks!.Lynda Davis Brown

RE: Garland County Cemetery
My great grandfathers were Albert Gideon Briggs and George Washington Arman. Both were widowers and lived in Hot Springs into the 20th century. One great-grandmother, Rosella Jane Hallam Arman, died in the 1890s in Hot Springs.

My grandfather was John Phillip Arman. He and my grandmother are buried in California.

Several of the Armans were buried at Bear in Garland County, but I doubt that the graves have surviving markers. That's where we searched for the cemetery my father remembered. We found a cemetery, but it didn't have any marked Arman graves and my father didn't think it was the right one. He thought the cemetery was probably under the lake now.

I'm in Oregon, so have only been to Hot Springs once as an adult.

Thanks again!

Garland County Cemetery
Thank you, Debra, for photographing this cemetery. We looked for it when we visited Arkansas, but didn't find it.

RE: Addition to Shady Grove Cem., Clark Co., AR
I can go take a photo of the funeral home maker and post it with a better photo of their headstone. Before the in craving is done on the headstone. Then go back at a later date to get the in craved headstone.

Again thank you for the information.

RE: Addition to Shady Grove Cem., Clark Co., AR
Thank you for the information. I will post it after I go to the cemetery Sat. afternoon or Sunday and take the photo. I do not post things from obits. because things don't always go as they say. Besides that I have to see them in the cemetery before I post they are there.
That's the way everyone should do the postings, like it was done when Find A Grave started.

Have A Blessed Day!
Becky
