Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Don, and I live in LaGrange, GA. I spent most of my life in Maryland, but when I retired, I move to GA. Since 2007, I have been the GA GenWeb manager for Troup County, GA, and have made extensive surveys of the smaller cemeteries in Troup County, GA. My GenWeb website can be found below.

I have extended my work to several additional cemeteries in either Troup County, or in counties near the Troup County line. I am currently computerizing the cemetery database for Troup County Archives. and have records for almost 22,000 graves in about 300 cemeteries. If you need help in Troup County, GA, I will be glad to help.

I enjoy researching cemetery gravestones. If I have listed a grave for which you are related, and you desire to actually manage that grave, let me know and I will transfer control.

G H Goghan
I was searching for descendants of the 29th Alabama Infantry Reg. and ran across one of your entry of Pvt G H Goghan sometimes spelled (Geoghagan). His father was one of the first settlers in Andalusia Ala. Lewis Payton Geoghagan 1804-1862. He had 3 sons 2 serving in the 29th and 1 serving in the 18th Alabama Infantry. I don't know how much this would help you but what I have found from the rosters is this soldier G H Goghan is Pvt J H Geoghagan b.1846 d.4 June 1864 wounds or decease from the Battle of Resaca, GA 14 May 1864. He and his brother G W Geoghagan from the Battle of Franklin 30 Nov 1864 (KIA) are listed in the book Hold at all Hazards by William A Zorn. J H is also listed in the 1850s census being 7 years old https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MHPY-JPJ
Thanks for you time and great work on your listings.

I can't thank you enough for creating this memorial and now for transferring it to me. This is the son of my third great grandfather, and we hadn't been able to pinpoint where he was buried based on the Confederate war records. You have helpped bring closure to our search for this family member.

Gabrilla Forbes
Hello --

Could you possibly tell me who is buried nearby Gabrilla Forbes in New Providence Cemetery? It appears to be a family plot in the photo, but I can't make out any of the other names. Thanks very much.
