Bio and Links
Bio Photo Retired elementary teacher who is really "into family genealogy" and enjoys helping others with research. Enjoy fishing with my husband and being with 5 grandchildren who are involved in sports. Keeps us busy. Please feel free to use any of the photos I take on your family tree or copy them if you choose. You do not have to "give me credit" and don't have to use my name. It is an honor to volunteer to do this and hopefully helps others as much as it has helped me.
Note for 2014 - I have finished taking pictures at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau and placed them on the memorial pages. Some tombstones were not "readable" so 100% is impossible. New comment: As of October 2014 all of New Lorimier has been photographed. I am still working on updating and adding information. I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to John Hinkle who originated most of these cemetery memorial pages. He has done a tremendous service to our community. And thank you to Mr. Weaver at the city cemetery office for all his help. Without him, these pictures would not have been possible.
2015 - A big thanks to Mr. Jim Crites at the city cemetery office for providing pictures of burials at New Lorimier and Fairmount. He has been so helpful and it means a lot to those searching for their family.

That's perfectly fine with me. No problem. Thanks for all the great work you do. I love searching cemeteries and taking photos of headstones. There is so much history.

Thanks for solving the problem. I try to check edits if they look wrong but I hate to turn down all
Of them.

Just doing a search, it shows John Hinkle at 1204 Bloomfield Rd, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703.

Hope that helps.

Hello Ruth,

No, John didn't respond and I don't know how to get a hold of him. I've looked a little, but I can't even find the message I left for him. I normally have a printed copy to keep track of notes. I feel I had another birthday and I wasn't invited or I forgot to attend... I think it was about my grandfather/mother in the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery, but I really can't remember. I guess I could also be related to John, on ANCESTRY.COM, I'm matched up to the Hinkle family in MO on my DNA.

Hello, I noticed you had left flowers on the memorial of James W. Ash. Are you related? He was my 4th great uncle and I'd love to compare notes i you're also related.

RE: Leo Newman
Hello; I thought that one was interesting, too. I found it while searching obits for that cemetery, where my great-uncle is buried. I see that it can be accessed at this link ( if you sign up for a free trial of their website. I'm not sure if that's worth it or not. I found it through a database called NewsBank, which may (or may not) be available at your local library. Due to copyright, I can't post the obit on here, but I can share some additional factual information from it: It says he died at his home in Imperial, MO. He was a "wrestling champion" and coach in the 1930's and 1940's but had to retire in the 1960's following an injury. Then he was the owner & operator of a dog kennel in Imperial. It says he had no immediate survivors. I hope this is helpful.
