Am related to 80% of Memorials I've posted and may have more info on the individual(s)/relatives...
I try to remember to leave flowers when I visit a memorial while doing research. I may not be directly related but have been trying to add my relationship in the flowers notes...
A HUGE thanks to those who have helped update memorials by adding data and/or photos and to those who have graciously transferred memorials. There's a lot of hard work by a lot of great contributors on this site!
Blessed when I can share my work and welcome questions and/or corrections. If I've made a transcription error...let me know, politely.
Feel FREE to use the tombstone photos I have taken!!
However, personal photos that I own/have taken and posted have been copied and placed on other sites without permission. Ask and I will most likely allow it based on:
1) where it is being posted (not on "for profit" sites) and
2) proper attribution given, i.e. "posted by Cherie in OC on Find A Grave" ONLY so that anyone wanting more info can contact me about the origin of photo or to obtain more information. I've been in the position of asking someone about a photo and have been told they didn't know anything about it, they just copied it and couldn't remember from where!

Quick question, I assume you meant Phebe, but who died in Park Twp. Phebe or her mother?
|Lois Harriman||RE: Glen Huff Photo Request|
I checked the cemetery transcription in the library. This cemetery transcription was done in the 1990's and is different than the book from which you have pages 11 - 17. I'm sorry to say that Glen Huff is not listed in the cemetery transcription. It may be that his marker was missed, or has been broken, or that there is no marker at all. Sorry I wasn't able to help you locate him.
Hope you have a great weekend!
|Lois Harriman||Glen Huff Photo Request|
I checked the plot in the photo you referenced in your photo request in Mendon Township Cemetery and didn't find anything. The little marker left of Mahlon Huff's Civil War marker says, "Mother" and the one right of it says, "Gertrude", I think. That doesn't make sense to me since Gertrude's marker is in the next row behind it in the photo. Maybe it's a foot stone?
I looked at other Huff burial plots in Mendon too, without success. What I can do is to check the Mendon Township Cemetery transcription made by the St. Joseph County Genealogical Society which is in the Three Rivers Public Library. I'll see what I can find and get back to you.
Enjoy the weekend!
|Sandra Gifford||RE: Corkery|
All good!!! Nice to have a good database. Thanks for fixing/adding info. Much appreciated :)
|Sandra Gifford||RE: Pvt Vincent Mahlon Huff|
Edmond Corkery is my 4rth great grandfather.
Unfortunately most of the grave stones in Pioneer cemetery are gone/buried. Most of the field is overgrown grass and dirt.
Sad it was never looked after.
I do live about an hour away, planning another trip this spring/summer to take more pictures and dig a little deep, throughout all the Ennismore cemetery's.
Thanks for getting back.
|Sandra Gifford||RE: Pvt Vincent Mahlon Huff|
Most on the Corkerys I have added here are not closely related, It's pictures I took well in the graveyards of Ennismore.
Vincent would be my (If I am correct). 5th cousin.
My granfathers side of the family are all from Ennismore, original settlers. I am hoping to connect with family and descendants that left the area and compare info.
Thank you for the information - I have posted it on the memorial

New York, State Census, 1892, Schoharie
Schoharie County is NOT in this area, if that is what you meant.
Lake School Cemetery in on Fort Drum on property seized in 1941.
The information in the memorial came from:
Growth of a Century, History of Jefferson County,
published in 1895. Most is available on-line.
I am NOT sure why I am NOT finding either Jerusha or Samuel on:

|Robert Champlin||Zuella Martin Champlin|
Cherie: Thank you so much for correcting my error regarding the exact date of Zuella's death. The corrected date you suggested was exactly what I had in my notes but NOT what I typed in when I created Zuella's memorial.
|Blake A. Willey||Jill Autumn (Willey) Lambert|
Contrary to what obituaries state, Jill was born in Hillsdale, Hillsdale County, Michigan.
