A Texan's family tree is like a beautiful rose with many fragrant petals, but with any rose, you have thorny branches that needs pruning on occasion....the same goes with families.

Beatitudes of the Family Genealogists:

Blessed are the great grandmothers, who hoarded newspaper clippings and old letters, For they tell the story of their time. Blessed are all the grandfathers who filed every legal document, For this provides proof. Blessed are the grandmothers who preserved family Bibles and diaries, For this our heritage. Blessed are fathers who elect officials that answer letters of inquiry, For some, this is their only link to the past. Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and legends to the family, For one of her children will surely remember. Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with extra data, For them who owe the family history. Blessed is any family whose members strive for the preservation of records, For theirs is a labour of love. Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma, you have told that old story twice today."written by Unknown;

Mary Ida Faulk Carter #128813386
Per the 1910 census for Monroeville Alabama and the Social Security Applications Index (Ancestry.com), Mary Ida Faulk Carter 1908-1995 was the daughter of James Arthur and Edna Faulk and was not the Mary Ida for John and Elizabeth Faulk of Horry County SC. I have sent a request for correction.

OBITUARY

On the 20th ult., that stern and silent messenger, death, came for the spirit of Mrs. Sarah Barlow, one of Marshall's oldest citizens.
She was born in Robinson County, N. C., January 11, 1805, and lived there until she married, when she moved with her family to Tennessee, where she remained a few years; then moved into Mississippi, stopping awhile in Tippah County, and afterwards settled in Marshall County, where she spent about fifty years of her life. The last year of her life was spent in Lafayette County, where she passed peacefully away in the arms of our Savior. She told them when dying the angels were lighting around her bed, and at the hour of 6 p. m., January 20, they bore her aged spirit on high, where she has gone to dwell with the loved ones gone before.
A Friend.

She was married to one of my kin. Eddie Clifton Cofer. Is he buried with her? I have been unable to find his grave. If there I would like to enter his name and request a photograph of his and her tombstone be placed by their name on Find A Grave.

edits to Wesley A. Nabors
Hello and thank you for taking care of so many people!

Wesley A. Nabors was my great grandfather. I am editing his father's memorial (17720022, A.W. Nabors). Would you mind if I also edit this one? Or would you like me to take responsibility for his memorial? Thank you!

Hey Nancy Jane,

You are most welcome to use my photos on Find A Grave and Ancestry.com where ever you can.

I have been researching and photoing since 1954 and I want anyone and everyone to use and disperse everything for me.

Theo was my cousin and closest friend. His son is in charge of Mt. Nebo Cemetery where Theo is interred. Theo and I are related to at least 80% of the folks buried there.

If I can help you with any family data, please let me know.

Kind regards,
Thomas Allen Jones

Nancy, thank you for posting Lewis' DC - I had been told of the train accident, but seeing this makes it so...real. =) Please remind me what edit I sent for him that you had to deny because your data differs. Sorry - short term memory deficiency!
