Live in Thousand Oaks, CA. Have often explored LA Cemetaries on the weekends. My favorite resting place is HOLLYWOOD FOREVER, where my partner Rock and I have purchased a "Hollywood Square" in the Valentino Shrine. (We're exactly SE of Rick Jason of TV Show "Combat" fame.)|
Hobbies include So. Calif. history, classic cinema, collectible automotive literature, and collectible American cars from 1950 through 1972. (We own a pristine 1978 Seville in Colonial Yellow with every working option except the CB Radio and "trip computer")
Contrary to popular belief, Hollywood and Los Angeles are brimming with history; it's just that most of it is less than 100 years old and constructed with lathe and stucco! For nearly 100 years, the world's dreams have been made from images filmed throughout Hollywood and LA, so the artifacts (buildings and graves) are as significant as anything unearthed in Pompeii or Troy.
I'm grateful that so many younger people are discovering our modern mythology through Turner Classic Movies, revival Movie Houses, video/DVD, and other repositories of our collective unconscious. I often meet young people in their teens or 20s seeking the final resting place of Tyrone Power, Marion Davies, Cecil B. DeMille and even Virginia Rappe. God Bless them!
