I'm retired. I've been doing genealogy since about 1991. Like many genealogists I enjoy walking through old cemeteries and wondering about the lives of those who are laid to rest below my feet.|
Contact me, VIA THE EDIT TAB on a memorial, if I have entered info of a friend or loved one and there is an error to be fixed or additions to be made.
PLEASE USE THE TAB on the specific memorial to send or suggest corrections or ask questions.

Info supplied by direct family member Thomas Seltmann on Ancestry.com. He, like us, is retired and has been researching his family since 1975. I am related to Donald Seltmann 1921-2008 through marriage.
I should also mention that Thomas has shared family photos of August and his wife Amelia.

It was good to hear from someone on the Baird family side and I love seeing the pictures that you have posted. I haven't been able to find anyone still around Hancock Co, IL that are related. Keep up the good work and maybe we will find some more pictures some day. Have a great day!
|William DeCoursey||RE: Moses Embree|
Moses EMBREE, son of Robert and Mary EMBREE, was born 16 December 1652, at Stamford, Connecticut.
See Stamford Ct. Town Records; pre-1870 barbour collection (LDS microfilm)
Moses Embree is my direct line. You and I are cousins. I thought that I had sent you additional info earlier, but if you failed to receive it, please email me at email@example.com. Put "Moses Embree" on the subject line.

I thought that I had answered your query; but my message probably was lost in the Find A Grave system. I apologize. I have a great amount of info on our common ancestor, Moses Embree and related families, that I am willing to share with you if you email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Put "Moses Embree" in the title line so that I can retrieve your message from my SPAM filter and repeat your query to me. Then I will send the answer to your query and more, via email attachment.
Genealogy has been my hobby and avocation for over 65 years. I'm 86 years old, and have served as historian and registrar for a number of heritage organizations including the Mayflower Society, SAR, Soc. of the War of 1912 and Sons and daughters of the Pilgrims.
I'll have to check my old research note files that are currently packed away; but I think that the specific info you asked for regarding our common ancestor, Moses Embree, was from one or more issues of the TOWNSEND NEWSLETTER published some 30 years ago.

Hi FamilySearcher. We were in touch a while back and you mentioned that we shared some places we'd lived. You also mentioned you had moved back to the Midwest. I, too, have moved "back east" (from CA) but I'm in Virginia. I'm now in the South. We absolutely love it here. I've been looking at photo requests because I'll have some time to explore and take photos. I've been fascinated by cemeteries for a long time. I think I had a pleasant experience at Rose Hill in Chicago years ago. There are a lot of family plots around here. It should be interesting. On top of that, there are many Civil War sites very close to us here in Frederick County, near Winchester. I'm still hoping someone can "claim" my photo requests in Chicago. Too much to see and do. Not enough time even though I'm retired! Take care.
I'm not related to him
