RE: Frank Cox
A curiosity question that you may or may not have an answer to. Why was the Catholic cemetery established so far from the others in downtown Phoenix? In terms of the 1890s and early 1900s it was a considerable amount of travel between downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale. From what I've seen in traveling through Arizona and the surrounding states, although separate, all of the various religious and fraternal cemeteries are usually fairly close. Except here. Any logical reason that you can think of? And, for that matter, why didn't Scottsdale have an early cemetery of its own?

RE: Frank Cox
Do notice that there is a memorial for Frank Cox on Find A Grave although it is a burial unknown.

RE: Frank Cox
Please excuse the slow response but we have been out of town for the past 3 days. I honestly had not done any research on Frank Cox prior to your note but have now uncovered an article from the Arizona Republican of February 5, 1903 that sheds some light on the subject. I do not believe the Frank Cox in Prescott is the one murdered at Goddard Station. If you read the article, the first piece of info is that the bodies of Goddard and Cox were brought to Phoenix, not Prescott. The second is that Cox's funeral was held at the Catholic Church in Phoenix. So, it is a guess on my part, but I would think he was buried at what is now St. Francis Cemetery which is what was called "the Catholic Cemetery" at that time. I have walked and photographed St. Francis extensively and if he is there, his grave is probably unmarked. In the oldest section there are only a handful of markers that do date from the early 1900s, the rest of the area is blank lawn. I hope this is of some help. Here is a link to the article I'm referring to:

Jennings
I have included the info you provided for the Jennings baby. The memorial does state that the burial is at the ranch, and not at the cemetery. The important thing is that there is a memorial for this child, and that the location is also included.
