Thanks to the SAC-senders for generously donating their time to make our memorials more accurate and more complete.
Phony "rules." A few Gravers create faux rules, like "no death certificates on my memorials," despite the fact that the FAQs are perfectly clear: "Death certificates may be added...." Maybe these folks missed the "follow the rules" and "play nicely with others" lessons in kindergarten.

|David H. Sweeney||RE: John Cowman|
Makes good sense, thank you for your patience.

the monument is difficult to read, are you saying he was 42 when he died and not 12?

Thank you for your contribution. Info has been added.
In Pope Co. IL, some of the people living there with long names were often shortened to fewer letters. I don't know why but Tomlinson was often written Linson, Shufflebarger was often shortened to just Barger, etc. Tomlinson is a name in my husband's family tree from Pope Co., He has 2gggrandmother's both from different branches of the Tomlinson's (one married a Lauderdale & one married a Jacobs) that came originally from Stewart Co., TN. It drove me nuts when I first started tracing his tree and then I got information from other Tomlinson's in Tennessee that are also related to my husband. Maybe to name was too long for the stones or census workers didn't have room to spell it all out. The shortening of the name also happened in Stewart Co. TN
|LMSheehy||RE: Charles A Stout|
The dates for Charles Stout are from a cousin, Prof. Alzo Rosselot, who researched our French families up until he died in 1966. It was Charles' wife who was related to our Rosselot/Druhot family. Thanks for your reply and if there is other info you think I might have don't hesitate to ask.

|Cherie Valentine||RE: photo of Darius C. Mather|
Hi, that photo was in my grandmothers home for many years, and she had his name on a little piece of paper inside the little case. I wondered the same thing. Darius was the great grandfather of my grandfather, George Mather-so it was his family. The other picture that went along with Darius's, was his wife Amanda Mather--then Rounds-grandma had her name inside on a little piece of paper. I have no one left to ask if it is correct. It could be Darius' parents, Southworth and Philena Rice Mather-I don't know. I am just going by what my grandmother wrote.
Ahoy Jay! Many thanks for the edit link to Richard C. Delph's mother. Are you staying warm and avoiding the snowblower? Kind regards, Bridey Light
