Bio Photo Random Item #5: Grave Markers

The thought of a grave marker for a departed relative getting vandalized or stolen is enough to make someone shudder, but there can be some relief in knowing such situations are covered by home insurance.

"You hear those stories every so often of cemeteries being vandalized," Hackett says. "Insurance would cover losses for personal property items from theft, vandalism, or malicious mischief that might happen to a grave marker."

Insured homeowners should know that mausoleums also fall into this category.

"I think it's good that it's available and people should know," Hackett says.

What the HO 3 Policy says: The insurance company will pay up to $5,000 for grave markers, including mausoleums, on or away from the "residence premises" for loss caused by occurrences covered in the policy. Because they are considered personal property, grave markers are covered by home insurance "anywhere in the world."

Thank you very much for all your time and efforts and photos. Great job!!
Have a great day

RE: Wm Zimmerman
I was shocked to find him. I knew that there wasn't an obituary printed here, so I just winged it and lucked out. Thanks for adding it!
Thank you again for all the hard work you have put into documenting so many graves.

Lois Carolyn Huggins duplicate Memorials
Dave, So what do you suggest to get this problem on the duplicate memorial taken care of, it appears you do not plan to delete your memorial.

I would say since that is the case perhaps I should write to Find A Grave and let them solve the problem or perhaps you and the person that created the first memorial for Lois Carolyn Huggins #86360068 would agree to delete his memorial.

I just think duplicate memorials are a big problem.

I'm sure you realize that when a memorial is created as unknown burial, other people can not find the memorial.

I think Find A Grave needs to do something about that, they have made tons of improvements since Ancestry go involved. But, still more needs their attention.

Kindly let me know what direction you plan to go.

Dave, I kindly ask you to delete this memorial since you had created it as burial unknown. I see now that you just added the name of the cemetery after I told you it was a duplicate. If you would have researched before adding this as an Unknown burial you would have found the memorial that had been created for Lois in March 7, 2012. You did not create yours until May 28, 2014.

I again ask you to please kindly delete this memorial as you well know duplicate memorials cause problems.

Your most kind deed appreciated.

RE: Thank you
Dear Dave,

I enjoy visiting your dad; I added his memorial page to one of my virtual cemeteries (angels I visit often). I can tell he was an outstanding man, one to look up to... And, I know you miss him, it's hard not having our dads around, I know....

It ALWAYS makes me smile and chuckle a bit when I look at the photo booth picture of you and your dad, that is a classic, AWESOME photo! :)

RE: No can do...
Thank you for making the edits I requested. Don's place of death of Florida will be okay as is. I understand the problem. You did good with his memorial. His sister especially appreciates the work you have done for him. She will also get me a photo of him which I will add later. Thank you for all the work you have done.
