While researching my family tree, I stumbled across "Find A Grave". I was especially surprised to find that all the memorials and photos were done by volunteers. I felt that by becoming a volunteer myself, I could help others in their search. |
I've come to enjoy my visits to the various cemeteries. There is an air of peacefulness and calm I don't find elsewhere. Also, I've come across some interesting monuments, as well as various wildlife (beware of turkeys).
In addition to the historical value of this site, I believe that find a grave reminds us that no one should be forgotten.
Feel free to use my photos any way you want. I'm no artist - just some guy taking pictures. Hope that I can be of help.
I sometimes post pictures to memorials that already have photos. I only do this if I feel the picture I've taken is in some way an improvement. Send me a message if you would like any photo removed.
Transfers: Other than memorials in my virtual cemeteries, I will gladly transfer management of any memorial. Your relationship does not need to follow the guidelines. After all, most of the memorials I manage are no relation to me.
I am also willing to transfer management of those memorials in my virtual cemeteries, if you have a closer relationship.

109180009 joseph m paylo obituary/marriage
156556887 edward Janus has a photo request for a grave, he is buried at St. hedgewick, should be next to his wife Helen...
83989460 john J Janus aka Janos Janus
83989296 Anna Palyo his wife aka Anna playuv
these two are of the UTMOST importance!
I need an engagement announcement or marriage cert. I am looking for. All of their children were baptised at (New) St. joseph's where they are also buried-many of them with these two parents, all the links are tied in. some of the baptisms may have occurred at holy trinity as well which I am reading is closed, but I left a message with a priest..
Stan, maybe the Carnegie Free Library @ 1507 Library Street in Mckeesport would be a better option if you ever find the time. I need baptism records or most importantly the marriage cert. none of these can be located. If I can't get any of these baptisms or their (Anna n John Janus) marriage I am looking at trying to pay someone overseas 250 bucks for a census in the Ukraine which I cannot afford, This is my only other solution. I appreciate all the hard work you have helped me with more than you know! Happy new year and hope you will continue to help, thanks!!!
P.S. Marriage records are public so i know it can be located if you search the docket, not expecting that much work from you buy if you are game to get in deep with me this would be the ultimate place to find it instead of driving yourself on a goose-hunt haha! I am guessing they would have been married at St. joe's before papa got mad at the priest and they moved to holy trinity. between the years of 1901-1907 when they had the first son andrew. Oh Stan this is such a huge request if you know anyone else to be of help please let me know!

Hello Stanley i came across this webpage while searching for my moms name. We are related, Mildred "Sweetsie" Eicholtz-Opel was my mother. I also came across the pics you put up of my grandfather and grandmother thank you so much for starting this :)

Yes, I would very much appreciate the transfer of John and Matilda Adams' memorials.
I try to sponsor as many memorials for my relatives as I can. I didn't want to ask for a transfer because they are my great great aunt and uncle and don't meet the requirements for Find A Grave transfer rules. I would, however, very much like to look after their memorials.
Thank you so very much

None taken. My pix are not for photographic excellence. I am shooting 600+ an hour. I barely focus. Many of my subjects are just waiting to be discovered. Once the family knows where their loved ones are they send out a pro to shoot them. I even have been asked for pros in my area to go out for a fee to capture a decent shot. Additionally, some of the graves are down and relatives use my shot to send to their home owners policy for reimbursement. Bill
