Hello, my name is Mark Douglas Browning and I recently moved from Tucson, Arizona to Dallas, Texas.
My ancestors migrated to America from Germany, East Prussia, South Wales, England, and Ireland. Some of these ancestors married Native Americans (Chickasaw and Cherokee). My paternal great grandfather was a Shupe/Shoop from Southwestern Virginia.
I descend from the Gross, Cooper, Brock, Simpson, Saylor and Salyer families of Harlan County, Kentucky as well as the Griffith family of Whitley and Bell County, Kentucky on my maternal grandmother's side. My Cooper and Evans families were originally from Campbell and Union County, Tennessee before moving to Harlan County, Kentucky.
I descend from the Carby and Hunt families of Grayson, Hardin, and Hart Counties in Kentucky as well as the Muss, Hopewell, and Foster families of Bullitt County, Kentucky on my maternal grandfather's side.
I descend from the Craig and Delk families of Whitley County, Kentucky and Campbell County, Tennessee; the Craig and Williams families of Union County, Tennessee; the Fox family of Campbell County, Tennessee and Whitley County, Kentucky; and the Lawson family of Whitley County, Kentucky on my paternal grandmother's side.
I descend from the Shupe/Shoop family of Wythe County, Grayson County, Scott County and Wise County, Virginia; The Browning family of Russell County, Virginia, then Lee County, Virginia, then Hawkins County, Tennessee and later Scott County and Wise County, Virginia and even later Harlan County, Kentucky; and the Looney family of Hawkins County, Tennessee on my paternal grandfather's side.
Books I have authored: The Descendants of John Muss & Elizabeth Ceise | |

 | William Cook Photo Request Hi, I tried to upload Wm's headstone per your photo request but the memorial has hit it's limit of uploads & will not allow it. You'll either have to delete a photo (perhaps the cemetery photo) or sponsor Wm's memorial before I can upload it.

 | Jeremiah C Wells and Dr J.C Wells I see you posted pics of these 2 tombstones. One is for a Private and one is for a Dr. Are they near each other in the cemetary. One of these is my GGGG Grandfather and I am confused as they both have the same Birth year and Death year. I am thinking it is the same person but they have 2 stones. Do you have any info.
Thanks Dawn Wells respond to marfrethuntermom@yahoo.com | | | vicky hibbard

 | Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling I am researching the Bowman family. The death certificate for William McKinley Bowman (2 Sep 1889 - 18 May 1952) states that he was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, but does not give city. He died in Wheeling, Ohio Co., W. Va, and that was his residence at the time of death. I haven't been able to locate him in findagrave. I'm hoping to contact someone in Wheeling who could check the cemetery records for William McKinley Bowman, and took a chance that you could help me with that.
Thanks, no matter what.
