Check the 'Edits' tab (upper right on your profile page). You can accept or decline recommendations from other FAG members. Also, take time to look up places and dates of birth and death. A good link is https://familysearch.org/search.|
For accuracy, any birth, death, or marriage attributed to Yadkin County before 1850 is actually in Surry County (created in 1771 from Rowan) since Yadkin wasn't created from Surry until 1850. If data was attributed to Forsyth County before 1849 (when it was created), it's in Stokes County and Stokes wasn't created from Surry County until 1777.
PLEASE- if you take photos of graves (and are physically able), try and remove overgrown grass and soil which partly cover them to ensure a clear photo of the details. If it was your ancestors, wouldn't you want the same courtesy?
Maternal ancestors were PATTERSON and WHITAKER from Surry County, NC and I serve as a volunteer with the Surry County Genealogical Association to locate and document cemeteries and burials. Other family lines include CRISSMAN, RING, LOGAN, EVANS, MAINARD, FULK, REDMAN, and HAYMORE.
Earliest known paternal ancestors are in Chatham Co, GA - Benjamin Carter (b. abt 1828, d. 1862) & Mary Tillman (b. abt 1837 & d. aft 1870). Other lines include WELLS, GROOVER (GRUBER), MOBLEY, PRICE, and ROBINSON.
If I have burials that are more connected to you, will be glad to transfer them and would appreciate the same.

I will delete my entry but if you would look at dates,which causes these mishaps are people looking for numbers. The first entry was made 3 years before he died.

From Find A Grave memorial:
Burial: Baltimore United Methodist Church Cemetery
North Carolina, USA
Plot: Stony Knoll United Methodist Church Cemetery, East Bend, Yadkin County, NC
The marker is found in the Stony Knoll Cemetery. Buddy is the person responsible for this memorial (Find A Grave # 23445460). He would need to move it. I think it should be in Stony Knoll.

Hi Bob. Thanks for the burial information on Robert Johnson. I believe the death certificate may in fact be wrong. William Johnson posted photos of the headstones and I believe if Robert was in a different cemetery that he'd have informed me. I'd like to know why the mistake was made on the death certificate so if you find the answer please let me know. I have a family member who's death certificate says burial at home which at the time was true. Her body was exhumed and moved to Oakdale may years later. Thanks again for the information. Lynn

You posted a board on Ancestry.com asking for the ancestry and descendants of the Old Cemetery. My great-great-great grandparents and many other relatives are buried there. Thank you for posting the pictures.

I don't know. I'm in Surry Co. now and there are quite a few cemeteries here and in lower VA that need to be done. Hadn't looked over in Yadkin area since I moved. Add to that my back is giving me trouble and I can't do so many at once. Hate to drive too far if I can't get some pictures while I'm there. Thanks for letting me know. Hamptonville isn't too far away.

Great. I will change her birth date. What's on her death certificate is an estimate of her age at the time of death. If you get a photo of the gravestone, let me know and we'll double check the spelling of her name. I'll be agreeable to using what's one the stone if it's different from her death certificate.
|Robert C. Peurifoy||Daniel Combs|
Thank you for the information. Am not really sure how to handle this as his family continued the name Combs. His Son, Roby, was a very close personal friend. My primary information was from Roby's sons. I did research. If he was adopted, then why did his family continue to use the name Combs?
My Family knew Roby even longer than I knew him. He use to be the general Manager of the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Thank you so much for the transfers! I really appreciate it a lot! I will definitely go through my names and see if there are other family members that you might have! Thanks for the offer! I will be back in touch!
|Angela Freeman||RE: Dee Burton (nee Bates)|
Thank you for getting in touch Bob. I'm always looking for more information on the Burton/Bates. I have wondered why Dee used Bates and Burton at different times. I saw where he used Bates on his Draft Registration card and Burton on the US Census. My grandmother, Mittie Burton was one of his daughters. I'd love to hear/see any other info you might have.
