Greetings, Joe. I just saw your message on FB as it went into the hidden messages folder! If you didn't know it, we are distant cousins. Your Louise connects to the Schultz's through her maternal grandmother, then back to Jacob Schultz, revolutionary war patriot. ~~ Cousin Wave ~~

Possible duplicate
I believe your memorial #148738006 is a duplicate of memorial #56964278. The latter memorial has her full name while her grave stone only has her middle name.

See what you think!

McBride, John - your recent friendly reminder email
Sir,

Thank you for your follow-up last week.
I apologize for this very tardy reply. I am new to Find-a-Grave and honestly only set-up my account to post the dozens of gravesite pix I took when visiting St. Columba's RC Church last autumn, now almost one yr. ago. I thought it would be useful to document and share the neighboring headstones of my Great-Grandmother, perhaps connecting one day with long-ago friends, perhaps, of our Chester, NY family. Dunno, but I have posted them with basic info that was written right on the stones. This I hope answers your query a bit anyway. So thanks for reviewing the pix and adding more info that you gleaned from my pix!

That said and as an FYI:
I found Ms. Rosemary, of St. Columba's RC Church Office, extremely caring and helpful with our family plot search. I highly recommend that you keep her contact info, below, to share with those interested in this exact Cemetery. I imagine that she will be able to produce the plot grids with burial names and purchasers of the original deeds of any family plots -- if they are there! This is how my husband and I, in a matter of minutes from talking with Ms. Rosemary, walked right to my Great-Grandmother's grave. It felt like a miracle to me to connect these dots with the helping hand of Ms. Rosemary.

Here is the info and much appreciation for all YOU do for Find-a-Grave!

Best of the best to you and yours, LSR

Hi again,

I just realized I forgot to post a request for Col. Weygant's wife! Could you post copies of the monument to her as well? I'll post a request now.

Thanks again,
Jane

RE: Rudolphus S. Smith
Thanks.
I know about Valentyn Smith and Susannah, but want of course more proof of that fact that it was really our ancestor. For example, there were no witnesses or godparents mentioned for him unfortunately, and there were for their other children. Wish a corroborating record could be uncovered. Just not much out there. Also, would love a marriage record for John F. (the F is probably for Falentyn) Smith and his wife, Saralee North too.

I agree with you about the frustration of those folks who have the DNA testing done but refuse to share or contact anyone or contribute and keep everthing they know "private."

RE: Rudolphus S. Smith
Joe, Good to hear from you...Don't know what happened with the email I was writing you...must have hit the wrong button! but to continue...we have moved to a farm that has a cemetery adjacent and we have been cleaning, repairing and researching the inhabitants.

Thanks for the Poplar Grove update.

Just wish I could find out who Rudolphus's grandparents were. We did DNA on my husband (he is the one related to Rudolphus), but nothing definitive and the people who turned up as a perfect match left no way to contact them.

Thanks,
Vanessa

RE: R.S. Smith and family
hey Joe! How are you? I haven't found anyone that has done our John F. Smith DNA test yet, except my husband. Let me know if you hear about any potential candidates. I am thinking about leaving messages on Ancestry on those trees who have John F. shown.

I was reading over some of my FG correspondence and wondered if you ever happened to look up Rodolphus S. Smith, d. 1897, Phillipsport FG#91657951--his second wife Martha's death info, d. 1892? I think if I remember correctly. Was interested to document her maiden name. I searched the census records and found a Martha Buchanan b. NJ about the right time and she is in the same general vicinity as Rodolphus in Sullivan Co. on one of the censuses. Anyway, if you do get back there, and happen to think of it, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Vanessa
