Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born 1955 in Middlebury's Porter Hospital and always lived in Bristol VT. I have genealogies of many of our families in Chittenden and Addison County. My wife, Denise Grace is also from two doors away. Two teenage sons, Jonathan and Jacob. Don't be afraid to ask me to turn over any of the memorials. You are welcome to use my pictures but photo credits would be nice. I am happy to transfer anyone not related to me so that they can go to someone that knows them. Also, a lot of my photos are not great so let me know if you want another try I will see what I can do. I will also delete any pictures if you let me know that you put a better one on. I will not delete all grave pics to make room for family pics.

****Please use the EDIT button for additions, transfers and corrections*****

✔ PLEASE NOTE!!! Find a Grave does not require that I search the entire Find a Grave system globally, only the individual cemeteries in which I am adding to. If you create a memorial and it is listed as Burial Unknown or is listed in the wrong cemetery, then I am not going to find it before I create a memorial in the correct cemetery. Please do not move your Burial Unknown into the correct cemetery based on the information you found from my memorial & then demand that I delete my duplicate. I do check the cemetery listing prior to my addition and will know if any have been placed there after mine. As per Find a Grave, memorials listed in the correct cemetery (regardless of the memorial being created later) will always have preference over Unknown Burials. Memorials listed in the incorrect cemetery also fall under the category of an Unknown Burial because the burial place was obviously unknown if the person is listed in the wrong cemetery. For further information on this, please refer to how Find a Grave handles duplicate memorials. I do also make mistakes but this is find a grave site not add an obituary.

Sara and Matilda Hubbell Memorials
Hi Alan

I have sent messages to a Find a Grave Administrator about these two memorials (Sarah and Matilda) being duplicated to the wrong cemetery.. Hopefully they will be deleted soon..

Thanks for letting me know.. as Babe did quite a bit of duplications before she was removed from Find A Grave.. I was asked to take over her remaining memorials a few years ago and was not able to see all of what she had left.. I can only make corrections and can not delete any photos/memorials etc.

Again thanks for letting me know

RE: Martin Crane
Hi Alan,

Sorry about removing all your messages. I have been doing that when I put the name of the person being referred to into a virtual cemetery identifying those memorials that I am working on in some manner. May I suggest that might be a way whereby you could keep track of all the possible Rev War Vets brought to our attention. If you choose that technique you may make the virtual cemetery private (not viewable by the general public) or public - your choice. Thanks for all the tips, they are greatly appreciated. Would you like for me to send to you a list of those on my to do list?

Matthew Phelps
Thanks for adding the info I sent on him. Not my family so don't need a transfer, but thanks for offering. I just thought his life was so tragic and yet so interesting I didn't want his story lost to history. I linked his first wife Jerusha (also a Phelps) to his memorial with her bio. Take a look.
Thanks again!

got your note
I deleted my entry for Drinkwine, thank you for the notification. The death certificate was slightly missleading but it was totally my error.

Thanks again

RE: martin Foot
I enjoy being kept busy, but as for keeping out of trouble - that is no fun.

RE: martin Foot
Hi Alan,

Thanks! I've emailed Sophie a request, hoping that she will consider transferring Martin's Memorial to the VTSSAR. Lewis Jacob's memorial is mostly finished.

RE: Lydia Beebe - Holman Cemetery
Hi Alan: I'm still working on Solomon Beebe, Lydia's husband. Here is an e-m between myself and a Reference Librarian which may give you additional info on Holman Cemetery graves.

Hi Linda,

The most likely source for this information is the Salisbury town clerk and her name and telephone number are available at An index of persons buried in Holman Cemetery is available at
Best wishes for success in researching your family history.
