|I, too, began family research nearly forty years ago, before the internet exploded our options and resources. Now that I've found Find A Grave, I've become addicted to preserving the information found on older monuments that are weathering away and linking families together.|
Most of my memorials involve extensions of my (huge) family lines, Civil War soldiers, and other older fragile monuments.
My own lines include BAUMAN, BIRI, BONE, DALTON, JOLLY, LaROSE, MAYBERRY, NAEGER, RICE, STOREY, and TONGUAY in Missouri counties Madison, Perry, Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois, Washington,
Thank you to all the volunteers before me who have posted information on elusive family members.

How fabulous to find the headstone of a long ago family member lost in the Civil War! I am requesting permission to use your photo of William J. Travis' headstone on my Ancestry.com family tree. I will, of course, give you credit. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Permission to copy gravestone photo. I would like to put this photo in my data base on Legacy. I will credit you.
Thank you for going to the cemetery and taking the pictures, if weren't for you, I won't be able to continue my research.
Thank you in advance

My name is Gary Williams.
On your information for Hazel's Mother's name, you have Leone (Haskins).
Her Mother's name is Leona Alma Harmon, I don't know the reason why but Leona (my Grandmother) told me it was because they were poor so her parents Daniel and Martha gave her too the Haskins to raise.
I have lots more information on these families I would be willing to share with you. My email address is

Don't know if you are related to Gracie but I found this cemetery in the woods in Sabula and posted a couple of pics of her headstone.

Thank you for making the original memorial. I was not expecting it to be transferred to me but I promise to take care of it. Belford is so close to the Belfield (spelled many ways) that I wonder if some time way back in time they were in common.

I appreciate you efforts in solving our mystery regarding George Elwood Smith Find A Grave Memorial# 32577070
I have attached the newspaper article from the Lodi Wisconsin paper in an email I sent. Hope you have received it.
(Lodi Weekly Journal, July 31, 1872)
We think George was not old enough to be in the civil war, the article states George went on vacation from his home in West Point, Lodi, Wisconsin and did not return home being missing and he died from disease.
