I, too, began family research nearly forty years ago, before the internet exploded our options and resources. Now that I've found Find A Grave, I've become addicted to preserving the information found on older monuments that are weathering away and linking families together.

Most of my memorials involve extensions of my (huge) family lines, Civil War soldiers, and other older fragile monuments.

My own lines include BAUMAN, BIRI, BONE, CHABOT, DALTON, DODIER, JOLLY, LaROSE, LORE, MAYBERRY, NAEGER, RHYNE, RICE, STOREY, and TONGUAY in Missouri counties Madison, Perry, Ste. Genevieve, St. Francois, Washington,

Thank you to all the volunteers before me who have posted information on elusive family members.

August Naeger
Dear Judy,
I have done the edits you sent me. If you are related to August and would like his memorial (and his wife's and his parents) just let me know. I always want family to have the memorials of their loved ones.

Sorry, but Mrs. Farris's grave has no marker. I posted a pic of her gravesite, but feel free to see that it is deleted if not wanted. She is buried in Section W2 Sp. 494. Will send edits.

Smith gravestones in Smith Cemtery
Judy, I noticed all of the pics you added for the William Anderson/Rebecca (Mayberry) Smith family and their children in the Smith Cemetery. One puzzling thought --- a few of their children died young. There are pictures of the graves for Andrew J. and Lida/Lydia Olf, but no stone for William A. (1870-1874) or Elijah (1876-1897). Were there possibly stones that have either toppled or fell and have been covered over with earth? Would think since the had stones for two of the children, they would have had stones for the others. Just a thought.
Also was noticing the stone of Lida/Lydia. It shows her name as Lida and then OLF with a period behind it. Perhaps her middle name was longer and just abbreviated?
Thanks for all the hard work!

Nancy J. (Winebarger) Evans in Pleasant Hill Cemetery
Judy, would you please add the pic from Nancy's husband Elijah's (#51362023) Find A Grave page to her memorial (158566636)?
I finally located her MO death record (#23426) which lists her husband as Elijah and parents as Skiler (sp?) and Mary Jane George.
