thank you for the great bio, I have added it to his memorial.
|Nancy Cornelius||Betty Ruth Jean Collier Harrison|
Hope I added the information that you needed. This is not my family, but I surveyed the cemetery where she is buried and added her to find a grave. If this is your family feel free to request a transfer of her memorial so that you can edit it as you need.

Edwina "Ebbie" Harman Rogers Find A Grave Memorial # 55448726
Spelling correction to my previous post.
Earlier records list Edwina's family surname as Harman.
Her father was Jobe Iva Franklin Harman. His middle name "Iva" was erroneously listed as "Ivor" on Edwina's death certificate. His name is properly listed on his Find A Grave memorial.
Thank you for maintaining Edwina's memorial.

Edwina "Ebbie" Harmon Rogers Find A Grave Memorial # 55448726
Please correct her maiden name. It was Harmon, not Ivor. Her father's middle name was Ivor and his surname was inadvertently left off her death certificate. Her twin brother, Edwin Harmon, was the informant on her death certificate. All family records list her family's surname as Harmon.
Her nickname was "Ebbie" and she is listed as Ebbie Harmon (1900, 1910) and Ebbie Rogers (1920) on census records.
Thank you so much.

James you misunderstood me, by all means leave a photo but in the drop down list you have a choice of which type and you have chosen to put a personal photograph as a grave, hence the icon comes up as a tombstone not a photoframe in the search results

James, My scanner went out and I will need your address to mail you the photo that I have. Thanks, Virginia
|Virginia Wilson Bailey||William Duncan Hicks, Nacogdoches County, Texas|
Thank you for your note in regard to the William Duncan Hicks Family.
Also, thank you for repairing the tombstones for this family. I noticed that they were repaired and up again. It has been awhile since I was in Black Jack Cemetery.
The Hicks came from Mississippi with my Pate family and settled first in Sabine County, Louisiana and later moved to Nacogdoches County, Texas. The wagon train that they were in had at least 15 wagons in it.
I was looking for my mothers baby brother Joe Pate who died shortly after birth. I found a broken marker for a Joe Pate but, can not find proof that it is the one that I am looking for. He is the only one of 13 children that I am still unsure about his burial place. I have contacted a member of the cemetery and did not get any help. I know that some old records did exist at one time but, must have gotten misplaced.
I hope to give you a call sometimes. I would love to talk to you about the Hicks family.
|Virginia Wilson Bailey||William Duncan Hicks & Family|
Thank you for furnishing the information about William Duncan, Minerva & Allie Hicks in Nacogdoches County, Texas. (Black Jack Cemetery)
Duncan Hicks is a brother to my great-grandmother, Rachel Mae Hicks who married William Robert Pate in Jasper County, Mississippi. My grandfather is John Daniel Pate who married Dicey Modenia Peace in Shelby County, Texas.
I have only found a newspaper article about their murders and your details are what I was looking for.
I noticed that you have a book about the Hicks. Is it a published book that is available to buy?
I am also, looking for Jessie Parker who lived with them in Sabine Parish, Louisiana in the 1880 Census. I noticed that he was listed as a nephew.
Elizabeth Jane Parker who married Drew Pate is my great-great-grandmother.
Also, Martha Hicks was living with them and I wondered if Duncan's father died in Mississippi or in Louisiana.
James, please check your pending edits that others have submitted for memorials you manage. To do this, log in to FindaGrave and then click on Contributor Tools at the left of the page. When the contributor tools page pops up, look for the Edits tab toward the right. Click on that tab and simply choose the approve button to the right of the edits that are waiting for you. This is the only way folks can get dates, names, etc. corrected in FindaGrave. Thanks for your help.
