Bio Photo Thank you in advance for visiting my sister, Sandy

and my mother, Elsie.

I am so grateful to everyone that leaves flowers for them.

One of my hobbies is Wheres

When time permits, please leave flowers for the following:

This is a poem that I stumbled upon (author unknown):

Always a silent hurt,
many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.

God gave us strength to bear it,
and courage to take the blow,
but what it meant to lose you one will ever know.

I was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. I've lived in FL, NY, CA, WA, and OR. I was married to my best friend in San Diego over 39 years ago. We now live in the beautiful great Northwest. We have four wonderful children and we've been blessed with ten grandchildren.

I found Find A Grave by accident. It has become one of my favorite sites to visit. It has given me a place that I can remember my mother and my sister Sandy and honor their memory right from my desk. Thank you Find A Grave.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16

Strangers in the Box
By Pamela A. Harazim

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

"If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't want to know.

But, here's another question, which
Requires another view,
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?"

I am trying to find any of his family or friends, I have been looking for 13 half sisters and 1 half brother. I know his wife's name at the time of my birth. Neil, I gave you the wrong Memorial number.
Floyd Ellington which you photographed is 13931600
his wife Esther Ellington 13931599 which another person photographed.

You left virtual Flowers for Floyd? Is there a relation, or a kind gesture?

Thanks much
Pat Weyand

Esther and Floyd Ellington
Hi Neil. Pat Weyand Here from Kenosha WI. I have been researching my Jensen ancestry and believe one of your photos for Esther and Floyd Ellington 13931599 may be related in my tree. I have a Esther Marie Jensen Ellington. she would have been the Daughter of Jens Jensen. Did you take the photo for someone? or are you documenting the cemetery? Curious as I think I am on the right track but would like to confirm. Thanks Pat Weyand

RE: Hi Bob,
That mural was painted on the side of a hardware store in Hertford, NC. Unfortunately, several months ago the owner of the building had the mural removed several months ago claiming the paint was causing the mortar in the brick joints to deteriorate. I think it was pretty evident it was removed because of the Confederate flag and from pressure from civil rights groups. The building was repainted a solid color. Can't figure that one. It had been there for about 30 years.
