I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. I have always loved cemeteries, just walking through and looking at the graves. I have been fortunate enough to have wonderful volunteers who posted information on the families that I'm researching back in Indiana and Virginia and I just want to give something back. I've been in East Baton Rouge Parish (Baton Rouge), Louisiana since 1982. I did not become interested in genealogy until 2004. I hope to post pictures for cemeteries in and around Baton Rouge. I was fortunate enough to get duplicate copies of several issues of the Louisiana Genealogical Register (intermittent copies from the late 1960's thru 2002)and I'm entering all the cemeteries I find listed in these copies so there may be new graves in these cemeteries since these were published (in some instances 40 years ago). |
I am researching the following families: Ludington, Degener, Spurlock, Robbins, Sparks, Wilkerson, Depue (Depew), Wallstead, Frogness, Rector, Ludwig, Rice, Christopher and Henry.
PLEASE NOTE: Any old family photos that I upload to the FAG site are my personal pictures that have been handed down through my extended family to me. I consider myself to be the owner of these photos.

Hi I was wondering about the photo you have posted of Rachel Weese. I was wondering where you obtained it and also, it looks like there was another person in the photo at one time. DO you have the original photo? I am researching the Weese family in the Traverse city area and Ontario.

|Janet Muff||Sarah "Sally" Thompson Buel|
I'm going to decline your edit for Sarah "Sally" Thompson because the name on her gravestone was "Sally" not "Sallie." The stone was transcribed by the Castleton Town Clerk in 1919, and by Margaret Jenks in 1989. I've learned to keep my memorials in line with the gravestone because if I don't someone will come along behind me and create a memorial with the "correct" spelling. Then it's a pitched battle and often my memorial does not prevail because the spelling differed from that on the gravestone.
|Miles Causey||RE: Problem with dates|
John East's parents were Thomas East (1793-1815) and Mary (Polly) Day (1798 - ?). John was born 4 Dec 1812. His father, Thomas, died after the Battle of New Orleans and Polly remarried to John L. DeLee. Thomas's father was Tarlton East and all three families were in Feliciana Parish, LA. Dates are unproven, taken from family traditions/records. I have not found graves for any of these folks.
