I've lived in Acushnet, MA. since 1958 and have always been interested in photography and history so having a hobby that combines the two is great.|
I'm a 2nd generation American on both sides of my family so it didn't take me very long to create memorials for my departed relatives in the local cemeteries.
My parents, David Pimental and Norma S. Pimental, maternal grandparents, Harry #39060089 and Bertha (Baumeister) Settele #39060089, plus maternal aunts and uncles, Louis H. Settele #39060184 and his wife, Kathleen “Kay” Higham #39060231 and Harry Settele Jr #39059970 and his wife, Mary Anna Josefek #39060037, are at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Bedford so I started adding to the entries there to aid others researching their genealogy and got hooked on photographing stones and adding to the data on FAG.
Since 2012 I've been concentrating on Rural Cemetery which is also the final resting place for my paternal grandparents, Manuel Dias Pimental Jr #41299437 and Valentina (Mello) Pimental #41294992, Grand-aunt and Godmother, Amelia “Millie” (Mello) Monteiro #41294450, paternal great-grandparents, Manuel #41294221 and Rosa (Botelho) de Mello #41294307 and Grand-aunt Beatrice “Bea” Edwards #41294366.
Please don't hesitate to ask for a transfer of any relative of yours that I've entered, no matter how distantly related. I'm related to only 40 of the memorials I've created and always like to see them in the care of family.
I usually don't post my photos to memorials with existing headstone photos unless my photo is truly a better shot (clearer, brighter, color-balanced or cropped so it can be read), but when using the Upload & Transcribe function there isn't any indicator that an existing memorial already has a headstone photo, so it does happen. If I've done that to one of your memorials I'll be happy to remove my photo if you ask.
I post most of my headstone photos to Ancestry in my FAG Research tree under my Ancestry user name "trinka5364". I also post my photos to Ancestry when I find that I've photographed stones that already have photos posted in FAG.
Anyone who wishes to use these headstone photos for non-commercial purposes should have the courtesy to give credit to the photographer when copying: ex: Photo by D J Pimentel, or copy & paste: Find A Grave Memorial#__.
The flowers I leave on memorials are mostly shots I've taken of flowers in my garden or ones I took when visiting other gardens on vacation.

I am sorry if I upset you in any way. That was my first time contributing to find a grave. It would be nice if a message popped up explaining the policies and procedures but I guess you get what you pay for :)
Charles Crapo is my 4x Great Grandfather. The photos are dark but that is because we spent over an hour looking for the headstones. I am very grateful to you for creating the memorial. It meant a lot for me to go there - and to the Crapo Private Cemetery in Freetown. The purpose of my photos was to give someone searching for the headstones some landmarks withing the cemetery to help in the process of locating the stones. Thus hoping to save other relatives from the searching challenge we experienced. I have deleted one photo. I don't know how to make your photo the primary picture but feel that it should be.

thank you for all your contributions to Find A Grave.

You posted photos to George - his memorial is here:
George's wife Margaret (Reynolds) Bliss is shown on the lower photo of George. She is the center stone. If convenient for you, you could add that photo to her memorial here: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=172068211
thank you and kind regards

Thanks for making the correction. I'm just trying to connect all TEN of the Reed Sisters to their parents after my return from New Bedford, MA last month. I've got one left....for my puzzle.

I'm not sure what you are saying. When I looked at Ruth Reed Mosher's Memorial page, I didn't see that her husband was listed twice. When I was entering information, if it was already on the memorial...I got a message telling me that it was already posted. I appreciate your input since I am just beginning to deal with posting connections between generations.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to fulfill four requests I submitted for photos of grave markers in Rural Cemetery in New Bedford.
I appreciate your help and kindness very much!

Thank you P. Pementel for hosting the site for findagrave-walter Ewer. He was my great great grandmother's brother. Again, thank you for your effort and consideration. Sept 2016
