Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've lived in Acushnet, MA. since 1958.
My parents, David Pimental and Norma S. Pimental, maternal grandparents, Harry #39060089 and Bertha (Baumeister) Settele #39060089, plus maternal aunts and uncles, Louis H. Settele #39060184 and his wife, Kathleen “Kay” Higham #39060231 and Harry Settele Jr #39059970 and his wife, Mary Anna Josefek #39060037, are at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Bedford so I started adding to the entries there to aid others researching their genealogy and got hooked on photographing stones and adding to the data on FAG.

Since 2012 I've been concentrating on Rural Cemetery which is also the final resting place for my paternal grandparents, Manuel Dias Pimental Jr #41299437and Valentina (Mello) Pimental #41294992, Grand-aunt and Godmother, Amelia “Millie” Monteiro #41294450, paternal great-grandparents, Manuel #41294221 and Rosa (Botelho) de Mello #41294307 and Grand-aunt Beatrice “Bea” Edwards #41294366.

I now do most of my entries using the new transcribe photos tool.
I try not to add my photo when there is already one posted unless it is truly a better shot (clearer, brighter, color-balanced or cropped so it can be read) than the existing photo. Unfortunately, there isn't any indicator that a photo already exists when I'm transcribing and posting to an existing memorial, so it does happen sometimes. If I've done that to your memorial I'll be happy to remove my photo if you ask.

Please don't hesitate to ask for a transfer of any relative of yours that I've entered, no matter how distantly related. I'm related to only 40 of memorials I've created and always like to see them in the care of family.

I don't mind when headstone photos I've posted here are used in family trees but I DO mind when users don't acknowledge that they've copied them from FAG so I've also been posting most of them to my FAG research tree under my Ancestry user name "trinka5364".

This should help users of both sites add them to their trees and at least when copied from the tree, the photo is attributed to me. It may be your relative but I'm the one who spent my day off walking through the cemetery taking pictures, and for some difficult stones I may have made a second trip to get a better shot, so please have the courtesy to give credit to the photographer when copying.

The flowers I leave on memorials are mostly shots I've taken of flowers in my garden or ones I took when visiting other gardens on vacation.

Katherine T. Tripp, Pine Grove Cemetery
Thank you so much for the photos you have taken at Pine Grove Cemetery, particularly of the headstone for Katherine T. Tripp. I think this is my long-lost great-grandmother!

Thank You Donna, you're the best! I posted the information on F/B, and even though our extended family is spread out across the country, we all remember this little cemetery. It is nice to know, after all this time, that these people do have a name and a history. Thanks again for providing information for an answer to what seemed like an unanswerable question!

I know this is far fetched, but I'm really curious. Would you happen to have any general information about a small cemetery located on Forbes St. in the n. end of the city? It is over-grown and I can't make out any details from looking at maps on the internet. I've looked through New Bedford directories for information, I can't find any listing, it is just a family plot near a house on the side of the street.

This link is from Google maps:,-70.9340129,3a,90y,180.13h,74.32t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1so3aFCUnNCU2TaRkbRwv95g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Thank You

RE: Sarah E. (Russell) Ricketson Packard #110511322
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to verify Sarah's record. On Ancestry they just put an index card only record on but unfortunately you can't look at the index card. I would like to verify that name, etc on the card sometimes when it looks questionable. I am pretty good at deciphering handwriting. Thank you again for your help. Judi Schoonover

Thanks for responding. Just found it odd to find a record on Ancestry that shows Sarah E Betterson marrying Henry Packard on the same date, same place. Thanks, Judi Schoonover

Yes, my brother keeps fetting the run around from the company that is supposed to fix their mistake. Thanks for checking.

RE: Catharine C. Bosworth Delano # 147696959
You're welcome. I own a copy of the Bosworth Genealogy by Mrs. Mary Bosworth Clarke. Using the genealogy, coupled with all the available records on Ancestry and Family Search, I can usually figure out the line of descent. If you come across any more Bosworths in your travels, I'll be happy to take a look.

I know it's hard to tear ourselves away from this sometimes. Don't work yourself too hard! Thanks! Janet
