I am researching my family (Saye) and my wife's (Simpson)and have photos of most the markers that I have submitted to this site. Would be happy to share information with anyone interested in these families. I am in Athens,GA and am available to do cemetery look ups or photos in this area. Have camera, will shoot.I give permission to use any photos I have posted. If I have added a memorial for one of your family, and you would like it transfered to you, let me know.

RE: John Dootson I appreciate the offer, but I live in MD and don't get to Athens much anymore. The Dootsons are my relatives through my 2nd great aunt. I found out about John while searching the Georgia newspaper archives for closer relations (specifically my 2nd great-grandparents, Elijah Lafayette Dottery and Mary Hannah Culp). The WOW monument further caught my attention, as I had never heard of one before, being fairly new to genealogy. I was glad to tie the memorials together from the data I was able to find.
At the time, I was looking for Mary Hannah Culp's first husband, Bowles Wesley Parr (1842-1864). I hoped that looking for their daughter, Martha J Parr, would help me find him, and I ended up finding the info on John Dootson.
My mother grew up in Athens, having been born there in 1927. Would there be anything I might have (or could find) that would be helpful to you or others in line with my more direct relations that lived in Georgia?
