"I love dead people, In fact, I come from a long line of dead people." --from the comic 'Empowered' by Adam Warren|
PLEASE BE PATIENT. I HAVE BEEN BOTH BUSY AND DEALING WITH A CHRONIC ILLNESS AND HAVE BEEN SLOW ON REPLIES.
If I manage the memorial of a family member or friend of yours, I'll be pleased to transfer. It's so exciting to find things you are looking for! :)
It annoys me when people here treat memorials like their personal property - like memorials are trading cards to collect and hoard. ಠ_ಠ You know the ones! These memorials are the property of Find A Grave. We are just caretakers.
I am *always* happy to transfer, except when the person is my own relative (and no one is closer) or ones I have a special interest in. Even those I will pass on to a relative of any distance.
I have even transferred to non-relatives with a special interest in the deceased.
Some helpful resources:
Re: Erie St. Cemetery...I was told the following: "Unfortunately, a majority of the markers in Erie Street Cemetery are either not there, or are so weathered they are unreadable. Any grave that had a marker that was readable has already been uploaded to their respective memorial pages on Findagrave."
Cleveland Necrology File (many typos) and Cleveland News Index: http://newsindex.cpl.org
Cleveland Catholic Cemeteries Association:
They are currently putting all records online. As of 9/15, the following cemeteries are done - All Saints (Northfield); All Souls (Chardon); Resurrection (Valley City); Holy Cross (Akron); Holy Cross (Brook Park); and St. Joseph (Avon). Work is ongoing on the following cemeteries: Calvary (Cleveland); and Calvary (Lorain).

Those with a Cuyahoga County Public Library card can view many things online, including the Plain Dealer from April 7, 1845 - the present and much non-Cleveland information:

PHOTO NOTE: I did not take the photos of Brooklyn Hts Cemetery in Cleveland. They were ALL originally transcribed and photographed by a very nice lady, Susanna Pretzer. She was completing a project to earn the Gold Award in Girl Scouts.
I checked with her, and have permission to post her photos and add the names. She said, "I definitely didn't know how physically and organizationally demanding it would be when I started, but that made it all the more satisfying...The idea was to get the information to the people who want it, so go for it. If it'll reach interested people who might not find it where it is currently online or in hard copy at the Western Reserve Historical Society, then it's good." --Thanks, Susanna!
Another note on PHOTOS: I give my permission to copy any photos I have taken for your own use or for another site. There are only a few -of thousands- that I have posted which I did not take personally. Just ask, please, so I make sure you are taking something I shot.

|Sylvia Price||finding obituaries|
I just happened to find this site as I was on Findagrave. do you need a request to find an obit. and how do you charge.
Thank you for taking the time to work at the cemeteries. I know of a cemetery that is in very poor condition. Notifing the owner has not worked. Stones are getting lost under the grass and dirt at an enormous rate. What can I do? Thank you, Sylvia.

You created a record for Emma Weaver with the maiden name of Kollna. I created the record in the subject line (based off a photo of the headstone), but the maiden name on the headstone is Kolling. Both have the same death year and are at Woodlawn Cemetery. I was wondering if they might be the same people. I am of no relation but didn't want to create a duplicate.

Hello Cypress Green, My name is Michelle Hornack and Paul is my first cousin once removed. I have been researching his ex-wife Carol Marie Neville for years. You are welcome to view my family tree on ancestry for information on Carol and her family. Her mom was my grandmother's sister. I would love to have a copy of wedding photos that you have of Paul and Carol. My e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. Please feel free to use any information I have or contact me and I'll share what I have. You have done a fantastic job with Paul's memorial. Thank-you, Michelle
