I am available to take photos at cemeteries in northern Lake County, IL, and southern Kenosha County, WI.

Favorite cemeteries include U.S. Naval Cemetery at Great Lakes, Lake County, IL, and Vale and Paris Bristol cemeteries in Kenosha County, WI.

I am currently working on photographing as many headstones at Fort Sheridan as I can. I use as a resource for Section and Plot, as well as for the relationships between dependents and veterans. A resource for dating the era of the burial is

Bro. Michael O'Brien, Find A Grave Memorial# 151161976
I wanted to thank you for your photographing the grave site of my dear Friend, Bro. Michael O'Brien. Your kindness means a great deal to me, and I do appreciate it. Many Blessings!

RE: Irene Cash at Ft. Sheridan
Thank you for the note of thanks. Irene's name has not yet been added to her husband's stone hence no photo yet. She does have a temporary marker and while I was at the cemetery trying to get photos for memorials that needed them, I also took a photo of any temporary marker (which so handily include precise plot) that I came across in hopes that by creating memorials for those who have temporary markers it will be easier for a photo volunteer to check back for a permanent stone and take a photo. It is neat to hear that you had met Irene. I would be HAPPY to transfer her to you, just let me know. -Judi

re: temp markers for old burials?
My guess is they have gone through their records and intend to install gravestones for some/all where they can confirm a burial. There are a few others in that section that I noticed are clearly not as old as their death date implies and they have the newer cross design and section and site number inscribed on the back, which is a more recent feature.
There is a Chicago Sun (maybe it was Tribune) story from a few years ago about a project to document all burials and photograph all stones and post it on-line instigated from the poor documentation revealed a Arlington National Cemetery. Perhaps part of that project caused a list of missing stones to be generated and marked.
Glad to have a fellow photographer in the area. We are close to having photos for nearly all of the existing memorials (98% last I checked and I have a few more awaiting upload). But it is quite clear that not all graves have memorials so that will be a time consuming task to check each stone and find which need to be added. I can only do that when my husband with the smart phone connected to internet can join me unless you know of a way to get a file/printout of the entire database. :) -Judi

J B (#47371983) has taken a lot of photos at Fort Sheridan and sends me edits and corrections for the memorials I created from the records the Zion Genealogical Society published in 1996.

Thank you so much!

RE: Ft. Sheridan Edwards/Von Geiger
Thank you for the offer, but no need to transfer. I am merely a photo volunteer trying to work on the long list of memorials that are missing gravestone photos, at least for now while the weather is/was cooler. Glad you were able to get the Von Geiger memorials worked out. -Judi

RE: Vale Cemetery/Julia Johnson
Great! Let me know when you'll be in the area next and I'll grab my tall boots and gloves to meet you! It's really nasty in there nowadays. :(

Vale Cemetery/Julia Johnson
Hello! Pardon the interruption for joining the conversation re: Julia Bivins Johnson. I live within a few blocks of this cemetery and visit there often. It is in horrible disrepair and I have spoken to several city officials about its condition, to no avail. I went looking just now for Ms. Bivins. No luck, however, I did take photos of the headstones for Charles, Henry, and Violata, which are located in the NE corner of the lot. I'd be happy to join you in a more detailed search if you're interested.

RE: Julia Johnson, Vale Cemetery
I do believe she is buried close to Charles H Johnson. And possibly close to Henry & Violata Johnson.

RE: Alland
Good day!
I was checking my old messages and saw one from you on July 15,2015 that you would be transferring a 'Alland' memorial to me. The only memorial I currently manage is for Charles Alland, but I don't believe you were the individual who transferred him to me.

Would you please be so kind as to check your memorials to see if you have any Allands? I'm sorry I can give you a memorial number as you didn't reference one.

Sometimes I just feel like I'm losing it with all these brothers and sisters!
