Bio and Links
Bio Photo Folks, you can make correction for memorials on those memorials.
When requesting a transfer pleas include your ID#. It makes it easier for us to transfer memorials.

Also want to state here: DO NOT clean tombstones please. What I mean is it's OK to remove weeds growing over the top or fallen leaves but please don't do anything else.

I'm terribly sorry that I am very slow in responding to requests.
I had open heart surgery on March 12,2013 and am now in heart failure but I am able to add some additional information as my time permits.
Some of you may not know but you can add photos to any memorial on Find A Grave.

My profile picture was done by me from an old black and white photo of my great grandmother.
==============================
I don't take other people's photos without their consent so please do not take my photos without permission & giving me credit for each photograph used. In case you didn't know, every photo taken is protected by copyright.
I don't mind anyone using these tombstone photos for their own research but do not submit to Ancestry.com (or other genealogy web sites) or in any printed material. Do not save to disk to give or to sell to anyone else.
Just because you might leave keys in your car does not give me the right to steal it!

Very Important Information: Refer to Find A Grave FAQ regarding the use of any photo on Find A Grave.
*All* photos submitted to Find A Grave are copyrighted by the photographer so please respect the work of every volunteer who shares their time, effort and work product on this site. Most of the photos I have contributed to Find A Grave do not contain a copyright statement that does not mean they are NOT copyrighted. A very good article is here. Please read:
Copyright Fundamentals for Genealogists.
http://www.pddoc.com/copyright/genealogy_copyright_fundamentals.htm
From the above site:

"Created after December 31, 1977
Copyright starts as soon as the work is fixed in some tangible form. The term of the copyright is life of the author plus 70 years, whether the work is published or not."

Original bios are also copyrighted to the author and republishing them on other websites, without the author's permission, constitutes infringement.

Facts are not copyrighted such as census information as they are in the public domain.

I want to give credit to the person for any additional information given to me for a memorial if you tell me who you are!
==============================
I have lived in or around Lake Co., IL almost all my life.
My Pratt family came from MA & VT in the mid 1850s & settled in Wauconda, Illinois.
My Golding family came to Wauconda from England.

Many stayed here but some went to areas farther west to settle. I have a tree at Ancestry (Pratt/Webster).
I can make a connection to many, if not most, of the old settlers buried in Wauconda Cemetery. I do not wish to transfer memorials in Wauconda Cemetery to those no closer related than I am. I will add information to these memorials if asked to and give credit to the person supplying it.
My life is certainly rooted in Wauconda.

I will gladly transfer ownership of memorials I've added for persons not related to me at all...please ask!

Any memorials transferred to me will retain the previous owner's photos and hope the memorials I transfer will also retain the photos and information I have added to them.

Any person's name I've added to Oakwood Cemetery with words such as Waukegan or Waukegan Library list/listing is from their website. It has not otherwise been verified & I probably have not taken a photo of the stone.
Ann D. helps me out with a lot of the entries I make there. Thank you Ann for always being there for me. I really appreciate it.
I also want to thank those who have done some research on the folks I entered memorials for or sent obits.
My history:
As a very young child I spent many hours wandering a large cemetery near where I lived in Norwood Park, IL, even getting lost more than once. So I guess it should be no surprise that I've enjoyed taking photos of old tombstones.

Several others & myself have been doing research on our Lake Co. family connections. It's been quite an adventure & a lot of fun in spite of some frustrations & setbacks. Many thanks go to Sue C. Had she not been so diligent I'd not have found many of my ancestors.

Thanks to Kathy for contributing obits and other information to a number of the memorials I've added.

And thank you to all of you who have transferred and/or taken photos of many of my ancestors. Your work in locating these old stones is much appreciated by myself and others.
Also, when leaving me a message here it would help if you could leave a link to the grave in question...thanks a bunch from an old lady!

RE: Oakwood
I did have someone submit a few edits recently changing my "foreign name" ones to actual names, perhaps they did the same for you and you didn't see it and it automatically updated for you. I would check your approve edits and see if you can find them there. Hopefully that is the case.

RE: photos
Priscilla,

I fully agree, however I am confused as to why you are telling me this. I have not used your photos nor do I intend to. If you're concerned about transferring memorial management, it is my belief that whenever anyone adds a photo, there is always credit to that person regardless of who is maintaining the memorial.

RE: requests for transfer
My apologies, I am new to this. I assumed any request would include it.

RE: Wanzer family
No I am not related to the Wanzers. I studied the family while researching the Schroeder Cemetery in Dundee Twp, Kane, IL. Yes, this family is related the the Wanzer dairy family. What a wonderful memory you have of your teacher.
