Bio Photo Like a lot of members I started with FindaGrave looking for my ancestors to preserve memories for future generations. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am for all the wonderful people that went out of their way to help me in fulfilling my quest. So I wanted to pay it forward and I found the best way I could do that is to work with veterans and their families. They have sacrificed so much to preserve our freedom and as a spouse of a NAVY veteran this is the least I could do. Since then I have been working with a wonderful group of volunteers adding and editing veteran memorials to the National Cemeteries.

Known Burials verses Unknown Burials: Find a Grave guidelines clearly states a memorial with a correct known burial location will always be preferred over an unknown burial location and the final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days. Based on these guidelines the memorial added to the right cemetery first may stay and the burial unknown or updated and placed in the known cemetery will be deleted regardless of the date that the memorial was added.

Photos: I am happy to share my photos. Please feel free to use them.

Duplicates: I have taken stewardship of some of IWPP's memorials. When his files were uploaded from a spreadsheet, existing memorials were missing information, so FindaGrave did not see his as duplications and they were added. If you come across one PLEASE do not use the Message Posts use the edit features to let me be aware of them.

There are so many other situations as to why or how duplicates happen but they should always try to be avoided. The only exception would be for Famous Memorials and Cenotaphs.

Edits: Again please do not use the Message Posts for any changes or corrections. At times I do ask for sources as to where the information came from so please don't be offended if asked.

Transfers: I have had many contributors asking to have the same memorial transferred to them. We cannot please everyone so I am only adhering to the four generation rule (siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren). As the guidelines state the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it. A wonderful way to gather all your ancestors together and achieve that goal is by setting up a virtual cemetery.

I would like to thank all contributors and photographers for all that you have done for me and for FindaGrave. You are very much appreciated!

Have Fun and Happy Hunting!

Roosevelt Stewart
Just wondering if this is the Roosevelt Stewart who graduated from Collinwood High School in 1972? Trying to keep track of our classmates who have passed on. Hope to hear from someone. God Bless and thanks a million!

Thank you Cindy for all the love and care you provided for my cousin Robert Stineburg's gravesite. I hope to be as helpful to others in turn.

A possible photo of Gerald Richard Wilkin. What do you think? I don't know enough to look up the official records.
