Six descendants of Henry Willis and brother Samuel Willis have been tested through Family Tree DNA. All are an exact match, DNA proves that Henry and Samuel Willis are not related to Lewis Willis and Mary Champe. Please review Willis Project on Family Tree DNA. New information provide evidence that our Willis Family descends from Henry Willis and Mary Cochran. Thank you for allowing me to share!

Evert Woosley's birth date is incorrectly listed as 1933 on FIND A GRAVE website. It should be 1919. Thank you guys for all you do!
|Fred Fonseca||Rittenhouse homestead|
Shawn I believe the old mill was washed away in a flood and the photo is of the house built by Nicholas and his father William. David Rittenhouse was born there. It is open to the public if you come to Philly for a visit.

Happy Independence Day!
If memory serves me well, it was William DeWeese Sheriff of Philadelphia whose duty it was for the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence approved by the Second Continental Congress on July 4th 1776.
He assigned John Nixon to do the reading on July 8th possibly due to Williams advanced age (conjecture on my part)
Please correct me if I have any facts wrong.
7th gr grandson of Nicholas Rittenhouse and Wilhemina DeWeese

On William Deweese's Find a Grave memorial page you have my great aunt, Mary Smith, listed as his mother. Mary was still married to her first husband, Pearson Cathcart, in 1821 when William was born. Mary did not marry Evan Deweese until 1836. Elizabeth Harrington would be the mother of William Deweese. I submitted the edit on his page. Thanks for all you and your husband do on Find A Grave!
|Susan Renfro Anderson||Nancy Renfro Kennedy|
Nancy Renfro Kennedy is the daughter of William and Cloe Renfro. She is not the daughter of John Renfro and Esther Peak. They only had sons. I copy of his Bible Record was in his Rev War application. John and Esther are my 5th great grandparents through his 2 sons Isaac and Jesse Byrd Renfro. I joined the DAR through Isaac. Nancy was John Renfro 1760's younger sister.
Hi, my name is Bob Odom and I'm doing research on Claude T Deweese. I found his grave site through Find A Grave, memorial # 86460988 in Marion county, Illinois. I don't think Henry Archibald Deweese is his father. WW 11 registration, Claude states that he was born May 30, 1879 in Morgan County, Indiana. 1880 Indiana census has him there with his parents Henry and Elizabeth and older brother Paul. All other info found on him states his parents born Indiana. By 1900 the family is listed in Marion County, Illinois. Henry moves on to Michigan by 1920. Henry died there in Jackson county in 1922. Find a grave mem #19996968, Woodland cemetery, Jackson County, Michigan. Claude stayed in Illinois and raised his family. Henry is the son of David Berry Deweese, mem # 67418822 in Morgan county, Indiana. I know that Henry Archibald Deweese isn't your memorial but I thought you could look into this. Let me add that I think you are doing a great job with the info that you are adding on the Deweese family. I have been working on the Deweese family for 18 years and your info has been very helpful. I'm a member of Find A Grave but seems like I can't log in anymore. I think it is my old E-mail address that I used but I don't remember what is was.

Thanks for the listing of the children of Cornelius, Jr. and Margaret Richards Dewees.
I did find some problems, such as the estimated date of death for Cornelius appears to be two different people, the first died before all of his children were born and the second died at 113 years of age.
BTW, I also found an entry in Augustus Lutheran cemetery for David Dewees (# 7071515) who is somehow linked to his grandparents as his father and mother. I have sent an edit to the manager of that memorial.
Once again, thanks for the information.
