I specalize in babies (because they never got a chance) and veterans (because they gave us the chances that we have).
I'm hampered by 14K dial-up, so putting in fotos takes a while, be patient.
As a result of sub-service speed, I do most of my postings between 0400-0700 Texas time when internet usage is at a minimum.
Retired from GTE dba Verizon in Plano, Tx in 2007 after 27 years.
The dog in the foto is Precious, she is my constant traveling companion, mess with me and she goes into action, for real. !!!

Thank you for interest in making sites as complete as possible. Sometimes it is very difficult to find reliable information and when in doubt I do not add. But there is great pleasure in finding the pieces of history and data to make the right connections! I applaud your interest in the memorolized person and it's not just another number. Thanks!

Allen Family - Henson Cemetery, Fayette Co., TX
Hi James -

Thank you for all you've done to record graves!! I have been helping a friend research her Allen family and came across all of your work. I don't know if anyone else has written you about this, but on "Thegsaloni Allen" you asked for other possible suggestions for the given name. Well, I had run across the given name Thessalonia in some of my research and wondered if it might be the correct name here. I found this record on I think that you can see that the death date on the gravestone could also be read 1965, instead of 1988.

Social Security info:
Name: Thessaloni Allen
SSN: 457-24-2046
BORN: 12 Nov 1924
Died: Dec 1965
State (Year) SSN issued: Texas (Before 1951)

Furthermore, you will note that the parents listed on the death certificate info below are also buried in Henson Cemetery and that you recorded their graves.

Death Certificate #74519 Bexar County:
Thessalonia Allen, a black male, son of Wiltz Allen and Clara Houston Allen.
Construction truck driver
Died in San Antonio from a myocardial infarction
Buried in "Muldoon Cemetery", Muldoon, TX handled by Eunice Funeral Home

Even though the death certificate says Muldoon Cemetery instead of Henson Cemetery, I think that there is enough other evidence to be certain that this is the person you have listed as Thegsaloni Allen. Wishing you continued success! Marylyn Douthit

Kirk Cemetery, Limestone County
James, it sounds like you all are having way too much fun!!! Whenever you get a chance to visit Kirk Cemetery and search for Mrs. W H Smith's grave will be fine. Another contributor. (Poppy) apparently searched without any luck. I'm chasing a mystery of sorts! The mystery started in a tiny cemetery with only three known graves; the cemetery, Smith-Jenkins, is apparently located on private property way back in the post oak woods between Riesel and Perry Community, Falls County. There are two Jenkin infants buried there and Katie Smith, wife of W H Smith, 1878-1898. I have identified the two infants. Virginia Jenkins is the daughter of George and Martha Jenkins; they are buried at Riesel
City Cemetery. Infant Daughter Jenkins is their granddaughter. The infants father, Hiawatha Jenkins is also at Riesel Cemetery. The Jenkins had a daughter named Katie and I strongly suspect, but can't prove just yet, that she is Mrs. WH Smith that is buried there. That's part of the mystery. Now, the Jenkins also had a daughter named Lillie and according to FamilySearch, Lillie is buried at Kirk Cemetery, Limestone County. I was randomly searching FindAGrave for a W H Smith and came across a Mrs. W H Smith buried at Kirk Cemetery, Limestone County! There is an obit for her from March 1917 stating she left behind a husband and infant. The infant was not expected to live. The second part of the mystery; is this Mrs. W H Smith actually Lillie, a sister to Katie who was also Mrs. W H Smith? I hoped her gravestone might reveal some information. It is a fairly large cemetery but hopefully she does have a headstone. There could possibly be an infant also but I'm hoping the baby lived! Have a lovely and safe trip; hopefully, you can find her once you get rested up.
