A native of Miami, Fla., and now living in South Carolina since 1979, I've been a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) for 31 years and was a member of the U.S. Air Force and S.C. Air National Guard for almost 40 years. I retired from the Air Force in Feb. 2010 as a Major (almost 13 years enlisted and more than 27 years a commissioned officer). My wife, Judy, and I have four grown children: a daughter and three sons. Our daughter is a former teacher and now a full-time mother in Virginia. Our three sons have fulfilled and are continuing to fulfill their duty to their country as military members of the Air Force and the Marines. I enjoy photography, genealogy, and helping others in their genealogical quests. I am glad to be able to try to fulfill photo requests as time permits. I am pastor of the Salem Presbyterian Church (founded 1812) in Fairfield County (SC) located about 32 miles north of Columbia. I am a graduate of Miami Senior High School, Miami, Fla., 1968; The Citadel, Charleston, S.C., 1972, Charleston, S.C., and Columbia International University, Columbia, S.C., 1984, as well as numerous DoD and USAF schools. I am a descendant of Joshua Hodges, Sr., (R.S.) (1736-1809), Nathaniel Hodges, (1777-1858), Wade Payton Hodges, (1822-1877), Nathaniel Thomas Hodges, (1860-1943), Charles Groover Hodges, Sr., (1889-1980), and Charles G. Hodges, Jr., (1920-2013) I am also a descendant of the Trulocks from south Georgia, specifically Gordon Byron Trulock, (C.S.A.) On my mother's side, I am a descendant of the Jones, Rhodes, Trawick, McCall, and Sammons families of Dale and Barbour counties, Alabama.|

Thanks Richard for the information of Lieutenant Colonel David Smith. I am not a Citadel graduate, but a resident of the low country.

Bio added. Thanks for the information.
|A Horan||RE: James W. Anderson - Arlington|
Thanks for the update.
He is actually located in Section 28 rather than Sec 25 -- I'll submit an edit for that correction. His wife, Ethel, is buried with him, and I'll also submit an edit for that link to be made.

Richard, thank you very much. Did you receive the link I sent you last year to the dropbox file I put together on 1Lt David?
|Vicki Rush||Edward Jenkins|
Thanks so much for the great info! I added it to Edward's memorial with a "thank you" at the end to you.
Best to you, Vicki Rush

Thanks for all your contributions, too. I think there is a cenotaph for Elsie Drew in that cemetery, too, but I'm not sure.
|J Butz||Chris Clearwaters|
On his memorial page, his last name is misspelled in the heading as "Clearwarter"

|Joan Mays||Willie Virginia Pillow|
Thank you for posting the photo of Willie Virginia Pillow Puckette's gravestone. She is my grandfather's sister. I submitted an edit to link her to her parents. This will complete the Pillow family.
|William Carlson||William Howard Carlson, Sr|
William H. Carlson Sr is a second cousin of mine. I presume the family supplied obit is correct and it should be Blackman. Thank you for the info and for your updates of the memorials. I appreciate your help. Bill Carlson
