RE: Pvt. Robert Henry Cassels (# 11355323)
Scott,
Well, I just came across the information I was seeking on Pvt. Robert Henry Cassels. It's the muster roll for Company D, 35th Regiment:
Cassels, Robert H. private September 23, 1861.
Wounded at Cedar Run, Va. August 9,1862.
Died of wounds August 19, 1862. Buried in
Confederate Cemetery at Charlottesville, Va.

It's on the Georgia GenWeb, at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/military/civilwar/rosters/35thcod.txt

Now you have all the information we discussed.

Scott I really don't know. The marker is in Brownwood Cemetery. Could be he's not buried their. A marker could have been placed their for him.

George A. McAllister # 15593193
Valley Bethel Cemetery is apparently now known as Big Valley Cemetery. George McAllister has a record and photo at Big Valley as Find A Grave Memorial# 52930221.

I have copies of published cemetery listings under the former name. If you know how to create a cross-reference from Valley Bethel to Big Valley, or can pass this on to someone who does, I would be grateful.

RE: James Steele McClung
Thank you for the additional information. I had the second marriage in my records, but did not know about James' Civil War service.

James R Tapp - Memorial #31064518
Hello, I noticed on this memorial for James R Tapp the following information was contributed by you:

Note: Died in Cherrydale, Va., per his wife. This info came from Scott Hutchison.

James R. Tapp was my 2nd cousin 4x removed (my father was a Tapp). Could you share with me where you came upon this information regarding his death?

Thank you,
Cari Tapp-Wilkes

Thomas Henry Cave
I have studied & written of Thomas' father & know that Thomas was a student at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) at the time of his death. Cadets fought alongside the Confederate army under Gen. John C. Breckinridge & forced Union Gen. Franz Sigel out of the Shenandoah Valley. Thomas was a bushwhacker in Boone county, MO as was his father who was executed on the family farm by the Capt. Carey of the Union army who was acting under orders.
I'm puzzled about the statement that Cave was 13 as I found the date of 1847 several places - but these things do happen.... Do you suppose VMI would accept a 13 year old? Dunno...

Oakwood or Hollywood?
Scott,
I am trying to figure out which of the above 2 cemeteries John Augustine Adams would be buried in. He was killed at the Battle of Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862. He was with Co F 24th Regiment from Gwinnett Co. Ga
THANKS for any help!
Ann

Ken, I have a memorial for William E. George 126443606
Same Birth and Death Dates, I have the photo of the headstone and the memorial for his wife. Did you get your memorial info from the Hollywood Cemetery records? I am not sure but I think that I might have a Cenotaph for him, If so I will mark it as such. Please let me know what you think. Marsha
