John Hopwood, Revolutionary soldier, is my 5th Great Grandfather buried in Hopwood Cemetery who Hopwood, Pa is named. Because of him I found my ancestors, 2 wonderful hobbies, graving and genealogy and enabled me to be accepted in the D.A.R. of Bethel Fife & Drum Chapter; son & brother & husband are now in the S.A.R.|
I was born & raised in PA.; graduated
from North Union H.S. and then attended business school in Pgh.; mother of two children and 6 super grandchildren.
I feel everyone deserves to be "remembered" for passing thru this way and touching our lives in some way. I hope my efforts help to do just that; grateful for this website that helps us to do that in our small way.
Feel free to copy any photos as others have helped me, why would I not allow others to enjoy and sure they are memorializing them in an honorable way.
I would transfer anyone that's important to you too. BUT PLEASE IF YOU WANT ME TO TAKE A PHOTO - SEND THE SECTION & PLOT NO.
Your tombstone stands among the ret; neglected and alone. The name and date are chiseled out on polished, marbled stone. It reaches out to all who care. It is too late to mourn. You died and I was born. Yet each of us are cells of you, in flesh, in blood, in bone. Our blood contract and beats a pulse entirely not our own. Dear Ancestor, the place you filled 100 years ago, spreads out among the ones you left who would have loved you so. I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew- that someday I would find this spot and come to visit you.

|Jason Cornish||RE: Andrew Hillard Cornish|
No Problem. Thank you for making the change.
|Jason Cornish||Andrew Hillard Cornish|
In the family bio for Sgt. Cornish you have his mother listed as Hannah Burr Hilyer or Hillard. According to "The history and genealogy of the Cornish families in America" by Joseph Cornish (1905), and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sgt. Cornish's mother was Mercy "Mary" Wilcoxson (or Wilcox). Hannah Burr Hillard was Sgt. Cornish's paternal grandmother, the second wife of James Westfield Cornish.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
|BobNY||Samuel G. Martin - 1754|
In the record for Samuel G. Martin, you have listed an exact birth date and an indication that he was a Revolutionary soldier. He is my wife's 3x ggf and we have not been able to document either of those 2 facts. Can you point me in the direction of a citation for the birth date and the War service? Thanks.

If you look up St Adalberts cemetery and type in the last name Zych you will see 1 for Dolores and 1 for Dolores "Dolly". The first one was done a long time ago and didn't have a death year for Dolly. You made 1 and somebody else made the other.

I forgot to mention that somehow there were 2 memorials to Dolly. You may want to remove one of them and fix the birth dates and death dates

I was at St Adalberts today and took a picture of Dolly Zych. There were a small group of stones around Dolly's stone. I took pictures of all the Zych's there. If you want any of these posted let me know.

|Cashie||OK never mind, I figured out about Ella|
Sorry to be so confused. I do not like using the all capital letters, so have changed her name.
The all capitals was a mistake.

Do you want me to remove the information about Frederick Martin from the memorial of his son, Art James Martin?
I will remove it if you want.

You wrote---"Can you capitalize Ella Martin's maiden name of WILSON and not Walchock as they were not married very long and went by WILSON BEFORE
marrying my Grandfather."
Sorry, I cannot seem to find an Ella Martin among my memorials.
Please send an edit message directly from the memorial of Ella Martin. Thanks!
