Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born March 10, 1940 in Hogansville, Troup County, Georgia to Herman Hanson Mattingly and Mary Lee Oma Crowe and the second eldest of seven children to Herman and six to Mary.

My primary genealogical interests include Mattingly and Crow/e and connecting lines. I am descended from Cezar Mattingly but research all of the Mattingly name. From the Crow side, I am descended from James Crow (1713) and his second wife, Grace Denson.

If you see a memorial created by me and the individual concerned is of your immediate line, but not of mine, I am happy to transfer that memorial to you in accordance with Findagrave rules. If you are interested in a memorial outside Findagrave limitations and you have significant information that will improve the memorial, please us the "EDIT KEY" and I will make those changes.

Thanks to all who have contributed to these memorials especially the corrections as accuracy is important.

I don't know. You may wish to inquire with her family. Mrs. Ashby is not buried in the Moorman Cemetery.

Mr. Mattingly,

I have attempted to contact you regarding the memorial created for Mrs. Patricia Ashby via public message, email, and the Find-a-Grave edit page. Mrs. Ashby is not buried in the Moorman Family Cemetery.

My last email message was sent to you on September 12. Since you have not responded to email or messages on this site, I will proceed with contacting for their review.

This is disappointing since I would assume that as contributors, we have a responsibility and a duty to enter information that is correct.

Bernard Xavier Owens

My name is Alexis Sullivan. I'm leaving a message about Bernard Xavier Owens. Bernard was my maternal great-grandfather. I was hoping that you could transfer his memorial to me, I would really appreciate it.

RE: Mattingly memorials
You are welcomed for the memorials. I am just happy to have found them and be able to transfer them to your care. It truly makes creating memorials more enjoyable. And, thank you for your support on my other "issue" - I offered to transfer and probably would have given the memorial, but that did not seem to satisfy. He is one of two interments in the state with that name... hardly a global search was needed. lol..but thanks again, and enjoy he rest of your week. BTW..are you related to any of the Mattingly's I found from a family photo? I am not sorry I found them on a photograph and not by walking that particular cemetery... haha!

Please remove this Grave Memorial from the Moorman Cemetery. Ms. Ashby is not buried here. Moorman Cemetery is a very small, old family cemetery with approximately 24 graves.

My father and my aunt were buried in the cemetery this spring (March and May 2015). So, when I saw this addition, I was fairly certain that it could not be correct. To make doubly certain, I visited the cemetery this weekend. Ms. Ashby is not in this cemetery.

Possibly Ms. Ashby was interred at the New Hope Cemtery which is a couple of miles up the road on Hwy 431. Locals to the area sometimes refer to the New Hope Cemetery as Moorman Cemetery, this may be the cause of confusion.

Thank you,
Beth Murphy

RE: Mattingly/Harges
I transferred those to you. He has another photo with Mattingly's that I am not seeing here either. I will be creating at least one from there and will transfer as soon as I do.

Guess what I found today? I know it will make you very happy.... I don't know if you remember our conversation about my relationship to the Harges family and your relationship to Marie... but, Barry's son took a photo of the plot and Barry is buried with Marie in Donaldsonville. I created his memorial today. The other news is, there a couple of Mattingly's on the tomb that I do not see in this cemetery, yet :) I can create them, or you can, just let me know. I am posting a photo of the tomb now, if you'd like to see it :)
