I have been doing genealogy research for over 36 years now. It started as a hobby that is now an addiction. Cemeteries are fasinating places to learn clues about ones ancestors and I have tried to find the graves of as many of my and my husband's ancestors and their families as I can. Preserving the memory of our loved ones and photographing the tombstones is a great way to preserve and share what time might destroy. All of my memorials are ancestors of mine or my husband.|

Feel free to use any of my photos but PLEASE state that it came from Find A Grave and give me credit for the photo. Thank you.

My name is John R. Brady and i was wondering where the information came from on the Benjamin Brady you have posted along with his family. Benjamin is my 3rd Great Grandfather. I have been doing research on the family for about 10 years. I had been unable to find anything on the Mary Brady Young side or on the two other children of Benjamin, George and Lewis that you mention. I have information on all the rest of the family. Many pictures of tombstones and markers. I am from the Samuel Dunlap side. I live in Maryland and not to far from West Virginia. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I noticed you have a grave memorial for a Sarah 'Martin' Baker daughter of William Martin.
I have been tracking down the migration paths of the various Martin branches in order to distinguish all the similar names between related Martin families. I would be interested in talking with you further about Sarah's migration across the US.
I am direct male descendent of David Martin (b1743), son of a William Martin (b1715). David did have a sister named Sarah. However, During this time period and location, there are a lot of Martins with similar names.
- D. Martin

The Masonic cemetery is a separate cemetery, owned & maintained separately from Glendale, even though it is located on the north end of Glendale. If you search here:
you will see that neither grave is listed because the Masonic is not a city cemetery, but Glendale is. If you call 515-255-0153 ( the Masonic cemetery), & talk to them, they will give you the location of the graves, which you can add to your memorials, so other people can find them.
So I deleted my memorials. But expect people to continue to add the Masonic version, because they don't check every cemetery in Polk county before they add a memorial, just like what I did.

I do not have the parents of Eliz Trumbo or the list of their children. This info would be greatly appreciated. If I find out any information on her burial I will let you know.

Hello, I am doing the research for my wife, Whitney Lynn Canterbury. Margaret Hornback Canterbury was married to Asa Canterbury, my wife's 3rd great grandfather. Making Margaret her 3rd great grandmother. I agree that memorial 62930670 is the correct memorial to use. I have Elizabeth Trumbo, first wife of Abraham, as the mother of Margaret Peggy Hornback. Memorial 62930670 shows only a spouse of Elizabeth Mappin Horback and it looks like in the memorial she is the mother of Margaret Hornback. Margaret was born in 1791 but the records show Elizabeth Mappin did not marry Abraham until 1811. I cannot find a memorial for Elizabeth Trumbo to link to Abraham Hornback. I am not sure the best way to indicate that Abraham Hornback and Elizabeth Trumbo are the parents of Margaret Peggy Hornback. I think I have my facts straight.
Let me know what you think.

Yes, we are cousins! At least 28 of the founders that are recognized on the cenotaph/bridge are my 8th/9th great grandparents. I would have liked to have gone to the 375th anniversary this summer but couldn't swing it. I have an old scrapbook that my late mother (nee Ford) made of the tercentenary in 1939 when she was 13.
Just to clarify about the pictures, what I mean to say is that the memorial bridge stones are a cenotaph (that is, not a a burial site) as you know. In contrast, as you know, the Milford Cemetery is a burial site. It makes perfect sense that the memorial pages tied to the Founders 'Cemetery' (the memorial bridge/cenotraph) have pictures of the memorial bridge. But on the pages that list Milford Cemetery, I find pictures of the memorial bridge confusing. I like the idea that a link from one to the other would link them without the visual confusion. It is true throughout findagrave where multiple memorials exist. Said another way, it is understandable that there may be two or findagrave memorials when one is a cenotaph and the other is the actual burial, but when the picures of one (rather than a link) show up on another, it can be confusing. Anyway, just one opinion!

Thanks for the clarification. I understand now. It's that the pictures from the memorial bridge/ cenotaph are used by many folks in the Milford Cemetery memorials that continually confuses me I suppose. I appreciate the clarification!

Nothing like getting into the mix late. This is in response to the message posted by Anne woods on Dec 17, 2013.
I think you have the correct Abraham Hornback linked to Margaret "Hornback" Canterbury as her father.
It looks like memorial #13689616 is a duplicate of #62930670. They both have the same grave marker. I am going to notify the manager of #13689616 that the entry may be a duplicate.
