Bio and Links
Bio Photo Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website, secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site, tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.

I will be happy to add info/links to any memorials. Thanks to all that have submitted info, docs, flowers or pics to the memorials to preserve our families. Thanks to everyone who has tried to find stones and found unmarked graves.

I firmly believe we are all God's children and are linked by this belief.

To add an internal link in the biography, you would need to type

Davis/Busha Cemetery
The Davis/Busha Cemetery is in Stephens County Georgia, not Franklin County Georgia. The location of the cemetery is in the part of Stephens County that was formerly part of Franklin County. Stephens County was formed in 1905 from parts of Franklin and Habersham Counties.

If you wish I can get you the approximate coordinates of the cemetery the next time I am in Toccoa Georgia

Thanks

John L. Davis
Please contact me so we can correct the erroneous information you posted about John L. Davis. I am the ggg grandson of John L. Davis and have researched my Davis line for quite sometime. Also, my Y-DNA does not match the Van Davis line.

I will look forward to hearing from you.

Question on Jonathan Hickman
A couple of weeks ago, reference was made to the obituary of Jonathan Hickman, giving names of who attended. I can bring this up now. There was a "button" to go to website to read entire obit, but I could not access the actual obit. Logan, do you have a copy of this obit?? Will pay for expense of copying, time, and postage to mail it to me.
I notice that you posted the picture of Hickman family. I was sent a copy of this same photo by Basil Summers (long ago) and I had his permission to publish it in my booK "jonathan Hickman & His Descendants, published 1986. I have the identification of all pictured. If you would like this info., e-mail me at sibylmb@msn.com.
I have a cousin is going to visit the Old Benton Cemetery to verify if the original tombstones were, or were not, pushed into the river.

Hi, I fulfilled the photo request for these memorials. I thought you might be interested to know there were other names on the stone, that did not have memorials. I have created them: Margaret Harrison 138220709, John Harrison 138220811, Catharine McCabe 138220956.

Old Benton Cemetery, Wright Co., Mo.
Logan: I have a BIG correction to make for all interested in the Old Benton cemetery. Happy news!!! The headstones were not destroyed I found the name of the owner of the land, and have talked with him by phone. He has cattle that graze on this land, and the property is locked. ==The report of the bull-dozing of the headstones into the river is totally unfounded. I have learned a lesson...to NEVER believe everything I hear...and double-check before passing it on!!! ==I do apologize for the unreliable report.

RE: Old Benton Cemetery, Wright Co., Mo.
Where will I find the transcribed list of gravestones that have been recorded? Please advise.

==I have never been sure that Jonathan Hickman's first wife, Mary Young, was buried in that Cemetery in 1852. I believe his second wife, Elizabeth Lee, was indeed buried there.

It is almost unbelievable that such a historic place has disappeared!!

The owner of that property could set aside the edge of the bank of the river and some kind of marker be erected with the names of those who rest there.

Waiting to hear from you,
Sibyl McClanahan Baker
