|Don Blauvelt||RE: Rowley Fuller family spelling Lathrop|
You have misconstrued my comment. The surname of the immigrant Rev. John Lothrop of Scituate and Barnstable was formerly Lothropp, not Lathrop; the cemetery at Barnstable named for him is called Lothrop Hills; and the official organization of his descendants is called the Lothropp Family Foundation - see http://www.lothropp.org
It was some of his descendants of one specific descendant child at Norwich, Conn. who in the late 1700s decided to change his some 60 year long recorded Lothrop family surname at Norwich to Lathrop.

Glad my memorials have helped. I am not a Lothrop descendant, but the contradiction of Lothrop versus Lathrop has become a particular bent of mine regarding Find A Grave memorials.
The surname of Rev. John Lothrop of Barnstable was NOT Lathrop. His great great grandson [if I am correct solely by memory of the generational descent] Daniel of Norwich, CT, thru the Rev.'s eldest son Samuel, decided in the late 1700s at Norwich, Conn. that the family surname was Lathrop and convinced much of the greater Norwich, Conn. branch to change from Lothrop to Lathrop.
The Rev. John Lothrop Memorial Library at Barnstable, Mass. is named Lothrop, not Lathrop.

This week on my MCCALLIN Tree, a findagrave photo was posted to my hints list, but I cannot find it at this site. Tristram Heard. from West Barnet Cemetery from Find A Grave photo by "RDLrandie". Would be easier if you replied through my email: firstname.lastname@example.org which I check every week.

I have been researching Jesse and Gladys Maag McWherter (both born in Ohio.) They had 3 children Alfreda Louise, Clifford L. and Harry J. I have a marriage record for Jesse and Gladys and A birth record for Alfreda Louise McWherter, born 11 April 1903 and a marriage record for Allen M Fisher and Louise McWherter that states her parents are Jess and Gladys Maaz (or Maag). Most of them located on Ancestry.com. There is also a couple of census' for this family, one with the three children liste.
Jesse or Jess had a second wife named Addie Flogambe I haven't been able to locate any children for them yet,but haven't really pursued it yet either.
Searching Ancestry.com I can locate several Louise McWherter's who's mother is Addy or addie and the father is named Jesse or Jess. So it really is confusing. I also at one time linked Louise McWherter to the Pierce family, before I found the birth record. Wondering if you belong to Ancestry.com? If not I would be happy to share the records that I have located with you. I'd love to have help on getting these people linked to the correct spouses and families.
Thank you in advance for any help you might offer. My member number is (#47059405) and my email is listed there.

I want to thank my newly found distant cousin R. with all my heart ... for taking the time to fulfill my request for the photo of my gggg- grandfather Joseph Putnam's headstone ... who, as it turns out, is brother to her ancestor.

ah thanks--she was 28 not 98 at the time of her death. I've corrected.
|John Sutherland||RE: Sutherland Updates|
It seems that at some time in the past you assigned me maintenance for the McIndoe Falls Cemetery and the changes have been implemented already.

I think I left edit suggestions on the memorials.
