Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy exploring old cemeteries and finding out a bit about the local community especially in areas with mining history. I'm currently entering folks at 4 cemeteries in the Globe-Miami-Superior area, 1 in Bisbee, and 1 in Mammoth - all in Arizona copper mining areas. I like to photograph the markers and do a little bit of research on each person. If you know of someone who worked in the mining industry, please send me their memorial number.
----------
Personal family research interests include the Germans from Russia who settled in ND, SD, OR, CA, and WA.

F-A-G hints...use the "Edit" tab on upper right of memorial to send suggestions & requests so an automatic hyperlink is generated back to the memorial. Please provide memorial ID# for relationship link requests and your contributor ID# on transfer requests. Be thorough and do a general Findagrave search to make sure someone hasn't entered your person already. Help keep the duplicates to a minimum by double-checking your own work and letting others know if they have duplicates. Cite the newspaper & date the obit appeared in. THANKS for letting me know about my dupes/errors.

Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana correction status - I've double-checked names beginning with Hea, Hf-Hz, I through Z - roughly 119,017 to date. You're invited to take a letter too and start checking. Thanks to John Anderson for keeping at the corrections.

Hello Corolla,
Thanks for the information. Are you family to Louise? Would you like her transferred to you?

Yuma Territorial Prison Burials
In 2006 a website existed which provided a bit of information on the many individuals buried at the Prison. The url is http://www.interment.net/data/us/az/yuma/prison/
prison.htm
I think you show Charles Gallagher with unknown birth and death dates. This website doesn't provide a great deal more but it does indicate that he died 31 Jan 1901. Both you and the website give consumption as his cause of death.

RE: Evangelical Immanuel
It was kind of a lonely spot as there are not trees or anything - just surrounded by grain fields. I didn't see it until I was right there. I had a great day off from work - I stopped at 10 small cemeteries and looked for 2 more that I couldn't find. I guess I will have to try again.

AZ Copper Miners
I'll get back to you with some more of them, and will watch for geologists...don't know any offhand...but will keep it in mind when I run across them...
Wasn't sure if that Miners page was for any miners, or what.
Will get back to you later!

Gaye Hill
Dorn in Cave Hill Cemetery
Hello Corolla,

I have removed the incorrect photos and using the lot schematic I am adding in the illegible stones photos to the correct names.

Emilia Maria Theresa Dorn is one of them, and I noticed that you have Oct 1871 as her death date. Her date of service was 6 October 1871.

Her grave is a DOUBLE grave with a Julius Dorn, interment was 8 October 1871. I think these might be two children and their markers are together. I am adding this Julius, with photos, and will transfer to you.

Thanks!
Corolla, thank you for your tedious work with the Crown Hill memorials! It is much appreciated by many, and there's darned near no recognition of all of the work that you're doing. Just want to say thanks!

RE: Checking progress on this end
Yours and others contributions to the Crown Hill Cemetery data clean-up is greatly appreciated. When others share the same goal of making the information as correct as possible, great things can happen. I know from experience that finding maiden name corrections is VERY tedious and requires many hours of studying each and every entry. I'm working on getting access to more detailed internment records from the cemetery office. I was there today and secured copies of all section maps and I'm working on getting full access to their burial records. This is a HUGH cemetery and it will take years to fill in all the gaps. Thanks again for your continued contributions.

William H. Laustannau
Thank you for addind William H. Laustannau to the Old Yuma Territorial Prison. William is his americanized name and his last name is spelled wrong.
His birth name is Wenceslao Ricardo Yslas Loustaunau. He was born April 3, 1869 in Catedral de La, Hermosillo, Asuncion, Mexico
He died 20 Aug. 1906 in the Yuma Prison, Yuma County, Yuma,Arizona.
He was known as Three-finger Jack.
His booking picture lists him as # 2029
He was a Labor Leader of the Morenci Mine.
It was a tragedy for my family that he died in prison there. He was a very intellegent man and had organized a labor strike that resulted in his arrest. An escape attemp resulted in his receiving a 5 year prison term that ultamitly resulted in his death.
He is the brother of my great great grandmother
He is the great great grandson of Juan De Batista De Anza the Spanish Explorer who was the first Territorial governer of Nuevo Spain which included everything west of the Louisiana Territory. The State of Arizona is named after De Anza's Rancho Arizona.

I added him to the cemetery and will do a complete Bio for him. Please don't remove the one you posted.
I have his booking photo as well as some other inmates from that prison including Nat Zin, Apache and Bat Dish, Apache.

Thank you.
