2023 update - pretty much have quit doing this. Too much running around. I still check every now and again, and if I have a previously taken photo, I'll post it, otherwise, time for others to start chasing the work.

Not too much to tell - I'm an amateur genealogy researcher and don't care to help out others with their research if I can. I'm retired and have some time available to do this. I believe that all burial grounds are sacred, and that each and every grave means something to someone.

I work mostly Washington County, TN and a bit of Unicoi County, TN. I am a member of the Cemetery Survey Team of Northeast Tennessee and serve as the graveyard representative for the Heritage Alliance.

Those who request photos - When we researchers post a problem report, please respond and either fix the problem or cancel the request. F-A-G will no longer permit others to cancel requests, and old, unattended problems seem to linger forever and clutter up our work queues.

My F-A-G work is somewhat limited. It goes in spurts. I enjoy trying to help folks out. It seems hard to get errors fixed, however. I continue to work locally and, if asked, I try to assist researchers. I work more on graveyard documentation, restoration, and preservation. I appreciate those of you who sent thank you messages, I truly do - you account for about 10 percent of the requests that I process. To the others, please think about your volunteers - they research the locations of the markers, often hike to family cemeteries thru brush and briars, we spend hours and dollars fulfilling requests - It is work and we take it seriously.
