Bio and Links
Bio Photo The day I found Find a Grave, I was on a grave hunting trip to Pennsylvania, dragging my long-suffering husband, John, with me while I took hundreds of digital photos of family graves! I also have a shoebox sized file box of "analog" photos, as well as records of other burials in places I have never visited! Since then, I have uploaded all my new photos and scanned most of my old ones! It's been a labor of love. Occasionally, I still find entries I've made that contain a note saying I plan to scan and upload a photo at a later time, if you see one of these, please drop me a note reminding me to do so. Obviously I have missed it.

I have been working on my family history since 1996, and most of my contributions are my own dead relatives, but I've always loved cemeteries, and sometimes I think my obsession with genealogy is just an excuse to walk thru old graveyards!

I also have (or can scan) better copies of most of the grave photographs that I have posted here. Please email me if you would like me to send you a larger copy!

I'm also on Twitter & Facebook now if anyone is interested!

Also feel free to contact me with corrections or additions to the info I've posted or to request transfers of your relatives memorials. I have recently changed the email address that I use for Find a Grave due to problems with AOL blocking the notifications from this site. You can contact me at my gmail account, or at my AOL address:

chersfmly@aol.com

I'm going to say right here that I ALWAYS give permission for people to use my FaG photos for your own research or to share elsewhere for genealogy or other research related websites, but I would really appreciate a note attached to the file saying where you found the pictures! I have started seeing a lot of the photos I've uploaded here shared on Ancestry.com without attribution. I WANT to share, but it bothers me that so many people are using pictures without bothering to say where they got them!

I love the automatic correction options and I try to check several times a week for new edits! I also tried the Photo Transcription option for the first time recently and loved how easy it made it to add several photos quickly!

Don't be afraid to ask for transfers of any of your family graves I might have entered. My personal policy is much more liberal than the official Find a Grave policy. Generally, I'll transfer anyone who is not a close relative to me!

Thank You Cherie
Cherie,
Thank you so much for the transfer of Joseph Welshhans. I have just finished completing his information and linked him to his parents. He was mentally handicapped and had no wife or family, and that is probably why no one remembered much about him.
Yes, I certainly would love to have the other Welshan/Welshhans that you have. I will go to each one and make a formal request for transfer and perhaps this will make it easier for you to transfer.
Thanks Again,
Rita

Anna Francis Post
Hi Cherie, I just wanted to let you know that I was doing some research for a project, and came across Anna Post. It looks like Francis is actually her maiden name, rather than her middle. On Ancestry.com, the Pennsylvania Death Index for Anna lists her father as Mack Francis and her mother as Nancy Plants. Her Social Security claims application also lists her parents, as well as her full name "Ethalinda Anna Francis." Hope this helps!

Higgs' stones
I understand that not only Nancy I. Higgs but also her brother, Alexander and Martha (YOST) Higgs and their father, Permenius Higgs (1762-1859) are also buried there. I have taken photos of their stones, but they are not listed in the W. Alexander Cem. in Ohio Co. PA. I would like photos added, if possible. Thank you.

RE: Bedillion
I'm in favor of a closer relative handling the memorial, if they are interested.

I've seen your photo of the cemetery and read that you've taken lots of pics. I was wondering if you could check if you have a photo of William B. Guill. He is suppose to be buried there and I've had a request up for years with no takers. Thanks.

RE: Permission to use your photos

Cherie,

I didn't take it anyway except that I could use your photos.

Whether I am ask to mention the photographer and findagrave.com I always do...I think it is the least I can do after someone has been so kind as to give me permission to use their photos after all the work they do.

I have had a few who have not responded to my request and 2 who have absolutely refused, for whatever the reason.

I will be 79 years old June 4 and am not able to collect photos of my own. That is why I am so appreciative to all who share their photos with me and allow me to share with others.

RE: Permission to use your photos

I always give credit to the photographer and findagrave.com when I use the pictures. I really want more people to know about findagrave because I only found out about the site a little over a year ago. I have only created 4 memorials but I really love to link family's together, read their bios and leave flowers for them.

Thanks again for sharing your pictures with me and my family.
