No spring chicken, I've been married to my lovely wife, Karla, for 55 years. Trying to make additions/corrections for deceased members of our family. Also filling time by helping log fellow veterans from National Cemeteries. |
My photos may be copied and used for your personal use.
My father and his family hailed from Rockcastle County, Kentucky, and dated back to 1622 when our ancestors landed in Jamestown aboard the Gifte of God. My mother and her family came from Hendricks County, Indiana. (She was an orphan when she married, and I'm finding it very difficult to find history regarding her family.)
I'm a retired Marine. Semper Fi to all.

Sorry, I have taken 32,000 photos and posted on Find a Grave. I surely can't be expected to remember every one.

Thank you for the correction. I would have appreciated more information such as Place of Burial. I had to hunt to find them.

Mr. Cummins, I am Harold's daughter. Thank you for leaving the message. My father rarely shared his experiences of his service. I recently came across this website and saw you left a message for my Dad. Would you be so kind as to share any stories of your time with my dad.
My father was not forthcoming with sharing that part of his life with his children. He was a wonderful father. I would love just to have some glimpse of that time of his life.
Thank you, Susan Davis

Saw your mention about his marker saying "1880 SCU" and this is a cousin of mine. His father was my great-uncle.
I have the headstone application that was submitted and fulfilled and it reads as follows:
GUARD DET, 1880th SCU (SERV COMD UNIT) US ARMY
I'm also submitting his bio and parents memorial link information through the auto-fill portion on his memorial. Please update them when able.
