Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Ardmore, Carter Co, OK where my husband jokingly says that I thought Noah's Ark had landed.

For thirty plus years I have been involved in genealogy. When my mother died, she left some notes about a few ancestors she had uncovered and hoped I would continue her research. That was the hook-in-the-jaw that changed my life. I only regret that I have missed out on so many years that I could have used. Alas, all those family stories that went in one ear and out the other, and all those family members who took so much information to the grave with them.

I am, however, thankful for the tools that are now available and for FindAGrave, a platform that I have spent many hours gaining from and contributing to.

If I have created a memorial for a member your family, who isn't related to me, and YOU CAN ADD INFORMATION TO THEIR BIO (not just family links), I will be glad to transfer it to you. However, many have received a transfer/transfers & have never added anything. This isn't fair to kin who may come along later who can do so.

An exception to the above are my Bell, Dodson, & Love ancestors and kin, most of whom have numerous descendants. Much of the information contained in their memorials is the result of many years of tedious research, and as new information comes to light, I would like to be able to make those changes. For these memorials please follow FindAGrave guidelines for transfers.

Instructions for ALL REQUESTS for corrections, additional information, or transfers:

1. Go to the memorial page, which has an "Edit" tab located on the upper right side of the memorial.
2. Click on the "Edit" tab, then click on the Suggest a correction or provide additional information link, which opens a message page.
3. Type in your message.

Making a request this way insures that no mistakes are made, because it takes me to the exact memorial.

Thanks for your understanding.

John Dotson
Virginia, I've transfered John Marion Dotson to you so that you can add additional information. There have been several inquiring of his grave over the years and finally someone came with a map of the plots and it was located. There is no marker on the grave.

Ivory Leland Bell [Ivor]
Ivor's first wife was Mary Letha Coger.

They were married for six years, but she died giving birth to their son, James Morgan Bell.

I have copies of letters he wrote to his sister-in-law, Leslie Irene Coger after Letha's death. In one, written very shortly after her death, he wrote:

"To me it is now, but an empty space
for never will I - there again -
see her smiling face
How cheap is verse - How cheap is song -
How frivolous is the whole world
When I stop to think - that she is gone.
The supreme sacrifice she made -
To give life to a little Babe.
In her likeness we pray -
Will James develop on life's rugged way."

You note that he wrote an autobiography at the end of his life - - I hope he didn't leave her out of his story!

I'm writing in hopes you'll add her to his page, and to that of James's, too - -

Thank you so much!

- Rebecca

RE: Johnny McLoughlin
Thanks Virginia for offering, but I'll decline; It was Emmett's memorial that I really needed, I wanted him to have a bio. for he did so much for the people here in Phoenix, in 1930's and 1940's, and it would be a shame not have noted it. I really appreciated that transfer! God Bless..

RE: Nannie Bryant
You are quite welcome. I am just happy that someone is taking an interest in this family in Lynn Creek. I am not related, but a lot of the people buried in Lynn Creek are related to my husband.

Benjamin and Jeanette Harrison
Thank you for your answer concerning my gg Aunt and Uncle, Benjamin and Jeanette Harrison. I did not know them personally, since they died before my time, but as soon as I get something together for them, I will send it your way. However, the relations and places of birth are real and I would like very much to see them attached to her as per my requests via the proper means. Thank you very kindly, Ray Jackson
