Keeping the memory and information about our family members "alive" should be our goal.|
Unless "we" make some major contribution in our lifetime, most of the information about us are known within our own family and after several generations the information fades and then it is gone!
Thanks to Find A Grave for allowing us to share this information with each other now, and for future generations to use in their genealogy research.
November 2001: Since this is Find-A-Grave and I am still alive, I wanted to leave a message for current and future readers about "my" grave location. I have just purchased space for my mortal remains in an older community mausoleum.
Old Mission Mausoleum construction began in 1918 and completed in 1954 with the addition of the fourth and final unit. The construction resulted in a total expenditure of more than one million dollars. I have researched the history of this structure and its builder of 36 years. The information along with photos can be viewed at this link.
Eternity and Me!
September 2014: I find it hard to write something about myself, but since I am one of those persons who never made a major contribution to the world, I will leave a short review. I have been married to the same wonderful lady for 47 years. We have two great sons' Todd and Brett, and one fabulous grandson, Tyler. My working life was spent with the Wichita Public School system (1965-1996), first as a secondary science teacher and then as a secondary building administrator. My wife and I now spend our time traveling, taking care of our grandson, and just enjoying our leisure time. Good luck in your research with your family history, and again thank you to Find-A-Grave for allowing contributions to this enterprise.
May 2009: I have just received word from the United States Department of the Interior, that my application to have the Old Mission Mausoleum placed on the National Register of Historic Places has been approved!

At the Davis Family Reunion 4/9/2016, a conversation came up about the burial place of Edward and Margaret Davis in Dallas County. I have added a few notes of this discussion to the memorial site. Just to let you know.

The above are listed as already having a head stone photo on Find a Grave, however, the their "photo" is only one of the cemetery entrance sign, and I would really like to have a photo of their headstone. How can this be corrected? Diann G.

Research is never an easy task, but I love the digging and investigating, in hopes of making all family connection as correct as possible, not for me but for other families, as well. I'm near 73 and been doing this for a good 16 years, 1st MyFamily.com (back in 1999), then Ancestry in 2003. I was in FindAGrave earlier on, under a different ID name, so all together with them, maybe 10-years, not sure......, I just keep moving...LOL.

Hi, and Thanks David!
And thanks for writing back so quick, I appreciate it. You may be getting more notices from me, as I was a bit confused, as to some of the information provided through Ancestry,FindAGrave as well, they just happened to connect to you...LOL, I hope you won't mind.
|MooreToots||Mary SKINNER-Dixon @ 13354583|
Ok, I'm a bit confused here, you have 'Mary' BORN on two different dates, April of 1789 and Dec. of 1788.........also, they (John and Mary Dixon)both Passed on the same day (August 24, 1851)??
I sure don't mean to bother you so much this, but trying to get it all straight, if you know what I mean....LOL, and I surely don't mean to be a thorn in your side either, just trying to be helpful.
From an old researcher......, GOD Bless!

Laura (Daug. of Geo and Elizabeth), passed on the 19th?

Looking at the Headstone, though the letters and numbers are washed away over the past 140-years or so...lol, BUT, it sure looks like the word SEPT, looks like the word OCT, or am I seeing things...LOL.

Hi, I noticed you photographed the entry to Park Cemetery, Sunnydale, Sedgwick, KS. Would you happen to know who I can contact for burial records there? I'm trying to find out if the baby girl - Memorial 5475946 - is the child of Mary Clara Pease. Mary Clara is supposed to be buried (1919) next to her baby daughter but I can't find her on the findagrave listing. Thank you, CindyLee
This grave is for my grandfather, Harry F. Gee, Jr. The accompanying bio is for his father. His mother's name was Josephine Kittredge. I realize that the info re Harry F Gee Sr. is from a social register, however, on his son's Find-A-Grave, it is sort of confusing. Please go ahead and delete the bio.

Thanks for the edits. If you woukd like me to transfer the record, let me know.
