Bio Photo I am not related to anyone in the Connerville Cemetery and will be happy to transfer memorials to family members. When I learned that there were not pictures of a lot of the markers, I decided to take them. (I'm about 2/3's done so if you have someone buried in this cemetery, please check back later.)

RE: photo requests
The wreath laying ceremonies are a huge, I mean huge, community event here and lots of community organizations volunteer their time to it. There is a wreath 'fluffing' event the weekend before Thanksgiving. The actual laying ceremonies take place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The wreaths are removed, I think, the first Saturday in January.

I first moved to this area in 1969...talk about change! I went to the wreath laying ceremonies last year...impressive. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit :-)

RE: photo requests
Stones at that cemetery can take up to 60 days to set but I've seen some within weeks and my own husband's stone took almost 90 days. I agree, it is a beautifully maintained cemetery! Maybe not so pretty right now as they have started an expansion project.

photo requests
Good morning, reference your recent photo requests: eight were still temporary markers last weekend, one has so many flowers in front of it that I haven't attempted to move them, two aren't listed yet with the grave locations, and I added two of your names to my current list of 66 graves to photograph that don't have markers yet. I appreciate your interest in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery :-)

DeWyke
Yes, actually I did know Earl was buried at Riverside. I had informed the memorial's creator a year or so ago, but I didn't realize she had transferred it to me. I'm not sure where she got her information, but she lists his parents as being buried in Riley too, which is incorrect. I think Cecil is actually buried there, however. There is a correct memorial for Earl at Riverside and also for his parents at Randolph. Are you related to the DeWykes? Earl was my dad's brother-in-law.

Warren Cantrell - Killeen Memorial Park
I went to the cemetery today. There is a pink granite stone at the location for Warren's grave. However, there is no marker showing his name and information on the granite stone. The cemetery office confirmed that no marker was placed on the stone.

He is buried next to his wife Emma and Daughter Esther. I have photos of them as well if you want to create a memorial for them. Kris.
