This is a poem that I stumbled upon (author unknown):
Always a silent hurt,
many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.
God gave us strength to bear it,
and courage to take the blow,
but what it meant to lose you
...no one will ever know.
I was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. I've lived in FL, NY, CA, WA, and OR.
I found Find A Grave by accident. It has become one of my favorite sites to visit. It has given me a place that I can remember my mother and my sister Sandy and honor their memory right from my desk. Thank you Find A Grave.

Strangers in the Box
By Pamela A. Harazim
Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.
"If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't want to know.
But, here's another question, which
Requires another view,
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?"

You're very welcome. I have been photo-documenting BG Doyle Cemetery for over two years now and it makes it so worthwhile when I can assist folks looking for relatives and friends. Warm regards.

Unfortunately, the inscription on the stone is unreadable. I had to go 'by the book' and locate the stone directly to the north of his. It is in the shape of a common military stone of the period and I am 100% certain that it is his.
Thank you for stopping by my family's memorials.
It is much appreciated.

|Traci's Mom||Traci Fields Birthday Greeting|
Thank you so very much for leaving a birthday greeting for my precious daughter Traci. It really means a lot to me and I know it makes Traci smile. So many people who didn't know Traci and don't even know the rest of her family have left beautiful and thoughtful birthday greetings for her and I'm just amazed and heartened.
My family and I appreciate your kindness!
GOD bless you.

Hi Neil, I noticed that you left flowers from my mother-in-law, husband and brother-in-laws and I was wondering if you are related. I am always on the lookout for my husband's extended family.
|Holly (Ames) Hanna||Guy Fenicle grave|
